protect him forever? he literally just moved up to heavyweight after cleaning cruiserweight
you are dumb
Yeah he’s a ‘super champion’ of a dud division so he gets to bypass real opponents in the HW div to fight for a title, it’s BS, he hasn’t proved anything at HW and there are others that deserve it more, so no I don’t want to see AJ fight that guy instead of Fury, that’s the fight the world wants and I’d rather he dumped the least illustrious belt than make us wait longer for the real fight.
Usyk opponents have been hand picked at HW to make him look the real deal, that’s what I mean by protected, he hasn’t gone after a dangerous opponent, just fought guys to get some recognition with Joe public, his ranking status is boxing politics BS, designed to help the likes of PAC man, Mayweather skip around divisions and put on big shows. Usyk isn’t in their league, it’s just a loop hole he’s exploiting to get in the way of the fight people really want to see. I don’t care if he wins the WBO title or not, but if it gets in the way of the most important fight in boxing right now, then we all lose, so let him fight some other second rater for it, if AJ is interested in getting the title back he can go KO him in a couple of years.
Lol, it just shows most of you idiots neither watch fights nor have interest in boxing, apart from sucking off whichever boxer has the biggest hype.
No, Josh never had no stamina problems in that fight. He just threw too many punches in the 3rd round and had to re-gather himself in the 4th and not punch himself out. And that's the smart thing to do since Pulev doesn't look out of it.
Stop it - Usyk doesn't have Pulev's power and he definitely doesn't come anywhere close to Pulev in terms of boxing IQ and guts. I'd actually pick Pulev to beat Usyk or win 5 rds against him if they were to fight.
Pulev has the best jab in the division and I don't care who you're - he'll outjab you (he outjabbed Wlad as well in their fight). The fact that AJ took that away shows how good he's. And against a southpaw - the jab is the most potent weapon an orthodox boxer can use to keep them offbalance and set-up the straight-right down the pipe.
Stop chatting shiiit - you don't know ***** about boxing and have NEVER boxed in your life.
WOW... i dont even know where to begin with all this Bolloks !!!
He's right though. If you willingly turn your back on an opponent like Pulev did, the referee has every right to stop the fight. He didn't stumble, their feet didn't get tangled, he literally turned around and walked away.
If you turn your back and walk away, you're effectively saying that you don't want to fight or you can't defend yourself. That's a just stoppage.
Ring is too small for heavyweights than it is for other fighters. He couldn't even take a knee - that's how small free space he had against a pushing heavyweight competitor. Referee clearly saw that Pulev didn't want to run away from the fight itself, he just tried to get a knee under a massive fighter's barrage of punches on a small ring.
In fact, I do NOT get the No Standing Knockdown rule at all. Maybe with corruption in this sport they thought referees could count those standing knockdowns when that fit but that is creating 1 problem without solving the previous problem of corruption.
Also, I really feel disgusted that it is mandatory to count to 8 instead of to 9. Experienced fighters manage to calculate time to get up after 9 for extra second although referee can wave it off immediately after 9 if fighter does not have weight in boxing society. Even in this conditions Pulev still got up earlier than 8.
That's the rule. Once you turn your back on the ref - the fight should be stopped.
I didn't even hear Hearn's comment about. But a bunch of boxers tweeted that the fight should've been stopped in the 3rd rd.
Ok, Nonito Donaire vs Naoya Inoue when that bodyshot landed. You would stop that Fight Of The Year 2019 prematurely after that bodyshot? Great call... spoiling everything.
