    Dubois' problem goes beyond quitting.

I'm curious why is no one talking about Dubois' corner? If there was any trust there it's all gone now. It should never get to a stage where the fighter is questioning if his health is at risk if he continues, that's what his corner have a towel to throw in. Now that it seems that he actually was badly injured he is literally at the stage that he cannot trust his corner to have his best interests in mind. Warren had the fix in, they knew he just needed to see the last bell, they did not care for his health. Yes he is a quitter but he should never have been in the position to quit in the first place. Just bizarre to me and very dangerous that people aren't asking the corner serious serious questions. I didn't listen between rounds much other than them giving him pep talks also so also curious how they couldn't get him at all to change his tactics or stop going for the jab that was getting his eye pinged EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have really built dislike for Dubois over the past yer after being high on his potential when debuting but now it looks like Frank Warren and a bad team around him have utterly ruined him.

He was in still the fight though... judges even had him up, it’s not like he had no chance of winning so should have been pulled out. I can understand saving him from further damage but he was also hypothetically 3 rounds away from winning on at least one scorecard.

As Martin Bowers said: “this is the fight game”. If you’re worried about your health don’t take punches for a living. It’s that simple IMO.

The Bowers are actually good boxing trainers, but old school tough guys. These guys went to prison for trying to steal the Millennium diamond, one of the world's biggest heists, just to keep their boxing gym open when the local authorities doubled their rent. They arent the type of people to worry about your eye getting shut.

Dubois can come back from this, abit like Vitali did, stopping for fear of a career ending injury. But like Vitali, he will have to redeem himself by showing heart in the future.Noboby likes a bully boy.

Yeah I agree, it’s not the end of the road but it’s a long road back.

I have no idea how bad his eye was. If he was in any danger of losing his sight then he should uqit or a doctor at ringside or his corner should stop the fight. If he was not in danger of any permanent damage to his eye then he should have taken the pain and kept fighting. Other boxers have fought many rounds with a broken jaw which must hurt just as much or more.

The standard of gameness and willingness to endure pain is much higher for a top pro boxer than for a boxing fan. That is part of what they get the big bucks for. They are supposed to be extra tough and tougher than most boxing fans or why watch them? Still nobody should be asked to risk their eyesight if that was the case here.

Well....to be fair he wasn't going very far anyway......I always said he was not going to make it out of the UK and looks like I was right.
