In Style!?
Lopez clearly beat the odds (which were VERY MUCH against him). But that's not "doing it in style". He deserves a lot of credit for what he accomplished, but it's not like the performance was something stellar. He basically won by being bigger and not committing to the OBVIOUS mistakes everyone expected him to fall victim to. That's not hating him, that's just a healthy perspective. Lomachenko lost it more than Lopez lost it. And do we even need to address the biased scoring. I had it close, so anyone scoring it NARROWLY for Lopez has my respect. But those scorecards reeked of bias.
Lomachenko, for his part, shouldn't be overly criticized. Hubris was his downfall, but who didn't believe Lopez would go bezerker early in the fight and blow his wad? Everyone who knows Boxing was sure he'd get Lopez to take the bait. When Vasiliy finally realized that wouldn't happen it was much too late, Lopez had bagged too many rounds. Also to Lopez's credit, he didn't completely fold when Lomachenko began to pour the pressure on. He even fought like a mature fighter, not settling to exchanges on the inside that would have favored Lomachenko, forcing the ref to break up the action and reset.
Lomachenko probably would have been an even better fighter in the old days with smaller gloves and more rounds but no PEDs. But in the 12 Round Era, Lopez is really fits the mold of an ideal fighter. He's like a better version of Wilder.
I am actually even more confident that Lomachenko wins the rematch. I think he was too ****y about the overall disparity in skill and maturity, and I think he was a little too fearful of Lopez's power. When he turned it on, he got the better of Lopez. If we had seen more of that earlier, it's likely he would have won the fight - assuming competent judging would have prevailed. It took a loss to get an accurate calibration of Lopez's ability, but now that he has that and the motivation to avenge his loss, Loma should pull out the victory in the rematch. Though, honestly, I think Lopez hightails it to Jr. Welterweight before that can happen.

My opinion is the same of your comment. Lomachenko win at least 7 rounds. At least a draw, but in my eyes Lopez didn’t win that fight.

Loma showed a good chin and defense and late stamina. Lopez however showed a perfect execution of tight boxing skills. People should not have said that Lopez didn't have a boxing IQ. I'm not sure where people got that idea at all. Loma is not the only act in town. Lots of great fights with Haney, Davis, Garcia if Lopez stays at 135. Canelo and Crawford seem to own the top spots in my opinion.

Hmmmm
Wonder why
