Great performance by Smith but man Alvarez is done. Looked super flat against Kovalev in the rematch and didn't have it today. The torn Achilles may have done him in.

Good for Smith though. Get him another big fight!

Have you noticed how they've also tried to paint Pascal as a power puncher since his Marcus Browne KO.

Out of the two, who would you take at a "puncher" contest ?

Beterbiev would be in Smith face from the get go, pushing in and doing his demo derby thing... He's a sound technician in his own rights... Seriously, Smith doesn't stand a chance... The other thing is I don't think he wants anything from that either, like any clear minded human being would...

I mean he is a pretty decent puncher he put down several former champions that counts for something Alvarez has been a good boxer for most his career but he has always had a decent right hand he knocked Bute out with it didn't he and yeah he didn't knock Pascal out who has besides Kovalev

I think tonight he just got overwhelmed 5 years ago he would've outboxed Joe Smith but unfortunately for him he turned pro too late his legs didn't seem there tonight and he's getting up there in age.

So IOW, there's a good chance Joe gets a title after all the dust clears. I literally can't believe 2 of my guys won in one night... Joe and Povetkin. An amazing night of boxing. Damn, very pleased for Joe. I'm sure his spirits are lifted as well. He keeps improving.

                      I totally agree with you!
All I'm saying is that the US media have tried to paint Pascal and Alvarez has one punch KO artist. In reality, Pascal got KO with his sneaky/awkward style and Eleider with his boxing fundamentals. Of course, fighting at 175lbs helps.

And being 36 years old, Alvarez probably has really lost his legs so he will either have to slug it out out of necessity from now on or retire.
As for Pascal, I wish my man retires already. Being my favorite hometown fighter, I'd really hate to see him get really hurt against the likes of Beterbiev or even Smith (who knows)!

Or to get a nice little payday in MTL (post Covid), Pascal vs Eleider rematch...
