What did he say?! The Russian/European era in boxing, that's TRUE! He also said that AA's dominated the 70's through the 90's!

From everything I've read it wasn't one specific incident, but an accumulation of incidents and the IFL interview was the last straw. There were several items from his social media posts, where he made controversial comments regarding the murder of Ahmaud Arbery and also some controversial comments regarding black women who are single with kids.

Keep in mind that he could have kept his job with a simple apology and kept it moving, he refused.

That's NOT what got him in trouble. Most people who wrote about what happened were far too lazy to watch the entire IFL interview.

What he said in the interview was:

"I don’t believe there is racial oppression in 2020, in this century,” Malignaggi said. “I believe there has been, sure, but I don’t believe there is any racial oppression today, I believe it’s all made up and it’s exaggerated. This is exactly one of the reasons why, the fact that a black fighter can say that and not pay any price financially, but if a white fighter said that about a black fighter, he’d probably lose his TV contract, and probably TV networks wouldn’t touch him. I won’t tell you that it’s a double standard, but I’ll tell you that it does prove that the entire whole hypothesis of racial oppression is way above exaggerated in this century.”

Denying systemic racism exists in 2020 means you’re racist

There is nothing even controversial about this statement.

To get fired for saying this is scary.

Goldie is the kind of guy that cries about racism but really only cries about racism only if its towards black people. THATS IT.

In his little mind only black people suffer because of racism and hes only anti-black racism. All other races need to fight their own battles he says.

What that means is hes cool with racism, that includes being racist to white people, which is perfectly fine, but when it comes to being racist towards black people its a big no no.

So was Paulie wrong? Nope. Goldie is a shining example of privilege.

Serious. Dude watched another poster, BoxingIsGreat call me inferior because I'm an asian who only supports white people because I'm just serving my masters and he pretends like that wasnt the intention LMFAO!

Of course hes gonna protect his brother lmfao!

And so many people have race all ****ed up and its so easy to see who's who.

If you think that you can say whatever you want just because youre not on TV and no one cares youre ****ing wrong and you're ****ing dumb. There are ears everywhere including here. You wanna be racists here what do people think people will think of you and your people outside these forums?

Any ********** here ever hear the saying "You make you look bad. You make me look bad".

But nah, everyone wants to pull the race card and play victim

You are making it very difficult to not call you something offensive.

Nobody is denying racism, it clearly exists. Do me a favor and Look up Visa U in immigration status. Done? Now tell me what group is among the biggest assailants? Is that not an example of systemic/ systematic racism the way immigrant groups are targeted solely for being immigrants?

Also in the state of California tell me which group is the true victim of police brutality? Which group is being murdered in overwhelming numbers? How many of those officers firing have melanin?

A lot of people with melanin voted for that wall to be built and for that idiot in office. Is that not racism?

Anybody that chooses to discuss racism has to discuss it on all levels, not just when it benefits self.

Thats why I say fucc discussing racism in 2020 and stopping pointing fingers and making excuses. Too many people have died during genuine times of struggle to use it today. That much I can agree with Paulie.

My beef with this whole ordeal is the fact you can no longer speak your truth. Paulie said nothing to be fired over bottom line, agree or disagree.

Did he lack professionalism? Perhaps, but he also didn't make those statements on a showtime broadcast or am I mistaken?

If anything I applaud Paulie as a man for not apologizing and standing by his words. Black or white, thats what a man does.

Haney went out like a punk. You really think he means his apology and whiteboys can beat him?

He's a fighter, he's a warrior, he's supposed to talk and be willing to back it up. Hopkins said it after kicking Pavliks tail and before fighting Calzaghe.
