Comments Thread For: Oleksandr Usyk: I Expect a Real Test in Chisora Fight

Oleksandr Usyk knocked out Tony Bellew on his last visit to the UK and will look to add another Briton to his record in Dereck Chisora. Former undisputed cruiserweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk will look to take his next step towards heavyweight honours when he faces Dereck Chisora in London on May 23.

this will be a very telling fight for how usyk will fair at hw. chisora wont quit so usyk better bring his a-game, if he struggles with chisora, which is entirely possible, then im not sure what to make of his chances at the top dogs.

Chisora has like 10 losses and is close to 40 years old. I don抰 know real test he is expecting. This fight will only show if Usyk is capable of beating a 35+ year old, past prime HW with 10 losses and who has been KO抏d multiple times already.

      It would show absolutely nothing.

Actually, the Witherspoon fight was already a test. From there, he should go up in competition, not down.

If he destroys Chisora in less than 6 rounds, what would that show other than he can destroy a guy who used to be good and is no longer a top 10 HW. That was the point with Witherspoon.

        You can't be serious? Right?

Chisora is a step down in competition from Chazz Whitherspoon? A guy who boxes part time and took the fight on 4 days notice?

Usyk starts very slow and is very hittable.

Chisora will be trained for this, can certainly take a punch (and Usyk is not showing great power), and most of all will take hte fight to Usyk... and will HIT Usyk.

This will show whether Usyk will be able to take a punch from a Heavyweight who can move and box.

I get the feeling posters like that look at records and don’t watch fights , Just about half of Chisora losses were to Whyte and Fury losing twice to each .

I’d say maybe two bad decisions as well ,He’s really had 5 losses to top guys one also Vitali Klitschko, I bet that same poster talks up the great older Ortiz only losing to the great Wilder ? Ha

I suspect Usyk will stop Chisora late but it’s not because Chisora is easy it will because Usyk is elite fighter .

I think this is really harsh! I think Chisora would likely out point Ortiz and nobody would be saying Ortiz is a nothing win for anyone.

Yes he has lots of losses but he's also fought a lot of the very best in the division! Not many other HWs can say this.

Having said that, I think Uysk might KO Chisora, he's much bigger in person than Chisora is. Not so much height, but he just seemed a lot bigger in body

Usyk is right. Unless someone gives Chisora a charity bout for a belt, his days at a top level are over and this is Chisora's last chance to shine. If it reaches the cards, its unlikely that Usyk is going to lose this one. I expect aggressive, dirty style from Chisora, rabbit punching, low blows, biting ears, ankles, licking neck, spitting in the face with snake poison.

Hype up Chisora all you want, his days as a durable fighter was in the past. Accuse anyone who doesn抰 think he抯 no longer good as someone who doesn抰 watch boxing (funny tbh). And hype up Chisora in fantasy fights he can win vs Ortiz, Wilder, AJ, whoever, it doesn抰 make him any good. Just be real with your self, dude is done at the top. He is no longer a top 10 HW in a HW division that is very top-heavy ffs.

You have Fury, Wilder, AJ, Whyte, Ortiz, and Ruiz. Then the rest of HW, and Chisora ain抰 even there.

揧ou can tell people like that don抰 watch boxing...weak ass accusation. Smfh. He抯 done at the top level and you know it. Why lie to yourself and point fingers?

I'll be very surprised if this fight happens...

Either through coronavirus or usyk getting "injured" again in training.

I still doubt he would risk losing to Chisora and rather wait it out for AJ or Pulev.

If by some chance it happens, I expect delboy to expose usyk at heavyweight and knock him over.

He抯 not done at the top level. He抯 never been at the top level! He looks like he抯 as good as he抯 ever been as a gatekeeper. He抯 better than Witherspoon is at the moment
