He reconsidered it because it would have been a tough fight, he had already won the first fight, probably didn't need the money, was getting older so figured he'd hang it up.

Nothing wrong with that, he didn't owe VK a rematch or anything.

Im a big K bros fan btw.

Lennox couldn't deal with knowing klit walked through his best shots with one eye and felt he couldn't survive a rematch

this is true, explain what you dont understand about all the other champions bar foreman to have retired from their title days by 38?

explain why you think Lennox should be treated differently from them all.

is it because he smashed your boy up good, putting him off ever stepping up again? just a guess.

He was a professional athlete in the most dangerous sport at 37 years old. Its been years and tribalists still crying about that fight.

I'm surprised noone has mentioned Lennox's now-wife, Violet, she had a big say in his retirement. Lennox even announced his engagement to Violet at the same press conference where he announced he was retiring!

It was a brutal slugfest that was going back and forth. Who knows what would have happened had the fight kept going.

The fight didn't keep going though because with legal punches Lennox shredded Vitali's face and the doctor and ref stopped the fight.

Lewis won by TKO. The fact he was behind on the cards is irrelevant. He was on the decline and out of shape and Vitali was coming into his prime and Lewis still beat him. He had nothing to prove.

He didn't want to fight anymore, so retired. It's not like he fought some other weaker opponent and avoided the fight. He obviously wasn't at his best anymore no matter what he said pre fight. He was out of shape, tired and had to dig deep to pull off the win. The fight actually showed you his will to win.

Lewis had nothing left to prove. He came from behind in that fight and stopped his man. Probably realized that he couldn't keep this up against younger men and not suffer in the long run. Good call on his part..

Lewis agreed to have a meeting with just the two of them there to discuss the rematch face to face. Lewis took his mother along with him and it was her that told Lewis not to take the rematch lol

He had nothing left to prove. Maybe he was aware that he was going down in his history as a atg and felt like the time was right
... Nope... The guy was just too old, that's all... Vitali was easily beating him to the punch until it was stopped for that cut... Your guy was just done...
