I don't think there's ANY chance they bump the rate up not 10, not 20, but 30 dollars.
DAZN has a pretty weak first month n a half of the year, but the Feb. 29th card that is taking shape makes up for it.
I think they'll have an even stronger 2020, building on what was a great 2019 for them.
But if they were to increase the price to 50 bucks a month, surely they'd go out of business.

So why not just do that and effectively make the choice for people to go for annual subscription a lot easier?
The $20 a month people are those people. Charge $50 a month and they'll illegally stream. With PPV those costs are delayed a month out on your cable bill. You don't have to come up with it at once.

Amazing that the churn rate wasn't factored into the cost at $10 a month. Amazing that the churn rate wasn't factored into the cost at $20 a month. But people keep telling me these guys know what they're doing. HBO going out of Boxing saved DAZN's ass because their original plan was to get PBC fighters to sign. Once that didn't happen they didn't have a plan. HBO leaving boxing came as a surprise to most people (not me I was saying it 3 years prior) including Oscar
What are you talking about Bob? is the strongest brand in boxing today, pulls in the best ratings bar none. is doing good things at showtime as well. +

Anyway I don't see it going to $50 a month. Probably like $35 a month and/or probably a higher price for Canelo fights.

Casual fans only see big fights and there is a lot of casual fans. Hardcore fans are the only ones that will consistently pay.
They might get away with that 50 dollar proposal for those big fights. PPV is around 70 so I can see his point.

Well, he can have fun with that one because he'll definitely lose at least one subscriber with me. I won't be paying no $50 a month for an online streaming service.
