Mayweather & Ward were only truly active half the decade,& Ward fought 11 times Floyd 10x,Canelo fought 25x,Canelos best wins all took place this decade,hes Beaten Trout,Lara,Cotto,Ggg,Jacobs, Kovalev,& Mosely,& a few other fights vs average champs. Floyd schooled a disadvantaged Canelo in a boring ass fight he looked drained,but he did it by outboxing him not destruction no kds,etc. Floyd beat Mosely while he was in his prime & Mosely wasn't,it was 2 fights prior to Nelo beating him. He beat Berto by suckerpunch(even though Ortiz own btch sellout fault)(lets also not forget very young nelo blasted out Lopez who broke Ortiz jaw),He beat a pac that looked worse than he does now right after Juan roidquez ko,he beat Berto & Maidana twice,& he beat Cotto.

Ward beat Kovalev twice in debatable contested fashion (but I don't personally think theres much of any controversy in his ko)(Kovalev looked no better v Ward than vs Nelo,he got kod by Nelo in a close fight after all), ward has wins of any note only over Froch,Dawson & Abraham.

If Canelo doesn't win this award it should be renamed the fighter of half decade(Ward,Floyd)or fighter that sells the most Floyd. Canelo has simply done more than the other 2 this decade & fought & developed completely this decade,Floyds decade was the 2000s he spent this decade barely fighting,& more for money than prestige.

I like all the excuses on why Canelo should win the award
, list Mosley as one of Canelos best wins who hadn’t won in over 3 years and 2 years after Mayweather fought him , but when Mayweather beats him all of a Sudden it should be discredited because Mosley’s past prime

All these excuses , PAC didn’t look good yet somehow after they fought he’s managed to beat top WWs , And the fight 3 years after the Marquez KO was to close. Mayweather schooling Canelo was boring so it shouldn’t really be factored in to the debate.


Kovalev looked no better against Ward then Canelo , Forget that it was Ward Who basically made Kov quit while he was a P4Per , took his 0 and his Boogey man facade , then got beat down by E Alvarez , when he fought Canelo is basically at the
Tail end of his career. Same Name but 2 different fighters but should be looked as equal.

Fighting Josesito Lopez at basically a 2 Division gap should be praised because he beat Ortiz

Oh yeah Canelos needed help from the Judges to get some of his best Ws and has been popped for PEds

But yeah somethings wrong if the guy who made Canelo look like a amateur when they fought gets the award over Canelo

If Canelo wins it ( I wouldn’t be surprised if he did ) it’s just another in the long list of instances of Canelo not deserving of it but getting a favourable Decision based on his popularity and ability to bring $ into the sport

Mayweather should win it , A case can be made for Ward , No unbiased person can honestly think Canelo deserves it over either of them
