Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder-Luis Ortiz Weigh-In Results From MGM Grand

LAS VEGAS Deontay Wilder was heavier Friday afternoon than he was the first time he fought Luis Ortiz. The Cuban-born Ortiz, meanwhile, was lighter than he was for their first fight for their 12-round rematch Saturday night at MGM Grand Garden Arena. The 34-year-old Wilder weighed 219 pounds when he stepped on the Nevada State Athletic Commission's scale, almost five pounds more than the 214 pounds he officially weighed for their first fight. The 40-year-old Ortiz officially came in at 236 pounds Friday, nearly five pounds less than the 241 pounds he was when he weighed in for their initial encounter.

Ceja didn't even make the limit of the division above. Figueroa ballsy to move forward but not sure it's the smart move

Wilder plans on avoiding a fight at that weight ,he will stay distance and run and get a UD win while getting out pointed every round just about. Ha

Ortiz looked in good shape. Crap, didn't want to buy this fight and I may just end up doing it. Let's go Ortiz!!!

Yep looked like quite a crowd to me. IF wilder wins this it’s
Going to catapult him into the lead as the face of boxing in America. According to Dan Raphael of ESPN wilder is guaranteed a minimum of $20m....wonder what he will make regarding percentage of the gate, ppv, merchandise, and site food/drink sales?
