Canelo untested at 168 or 175
Going up a weight class is fraught with danger and uncertainty. Most times a boxer goes up in weight, it doesn't end up well:
- especially if it's more than 1 weight classes
- especially if they didn't establish themselves at the higher weight class
Mikey Garcia didn't fare well. Amir Khan not at all.
Jeff Horn thought that knocking out Anthony BUMdine was a good test for him at the next weight class (catch weight) until he ran into a very average but motivated Zerafa.
If Fielding was Canelo's only test at 168lbs, it wasn't a really good one.
Now going to 175lbs and facing a champion, albeit fading, ageing, etc. It's still not the same proposition.
This is a VERY risky fight for Canelo. Whatever his team 'sees' it has to be with 20/20 vision. Otherwise he can be in trouble.

Canelo will learn quickly that calling out Kovalev was the worst decision of his career... Too much Power, a definitive size and weight advantage, and that effective jab will keep him away... he might have his times in the fight, but the outcome is written in the sky if Kovalev brings his "A" game...

Kovalev is a tough fight for any LHW
he is a very tough fight for a middleweight
the critics are just spastic casual-fans

If you ask me honestly I like both fighters, both are great fighters and both are already HoF'ers. I think GGG won the first fight and I think Canelo won the second fight, should a 3rd fight happen? I'd watch it but at this point in time I just don't see an older GGG beating Canelo, still I'd like a 3rd to settle the score.
About the kovalev fight? it's a great fight! not an awesome fight nor a super fight, still a very good fight.
Kovalev is not the same anymore, has body problems, not the krusher he used to be, still a LHW Champ, with a great coach, heavy handed and very skilled.
A MW moving up to fight him at the full 175 is remarkable, anyone saying this is a cherry pick is just a hater, so don't pay attention to that.

that is what I am seeing over this...
dudes are on the other thread, insisting that Canelo is not jumping TWO divisions to face Kovalev... because, Canelo is a SMW...
... despite the fact that Canelo weighed 160 in his last fight
97,000 idiots are running around with their panties showing
like I said earlier...

the critics are just spastics
