Not against Broner. Porter is tough, but if Broner can knock him down, he isn't bullet proof. To his credit he stood up to Thurman and Danny's best punches.

I wouldn't call this an easy fight for Canelo. But I also wouldn't say he is jumping up two weight classes like other fighters have. He is already a very big MW, and has a pseudo-belt at 168. He obviously sees an exploitable weakness in Kovalev (body), and feels that Kovalev is an easier fight than a rematch with GGG. He also sees Kovalev as the weakest link at 175. It's up to Sergei to prove him wrong. It's a compelling fight and I'm looking forward to seeing it. Canelo deserves full credit if he defeats Kovalev without any controversy.

He would get massive respect if he had picked any of the other champions like Beterbiev but he is too Chicken even with his drugs.
Kovalev is 36, and coming off a KO victory! B-Hop was 39 when Oscar fought him (at a catch weight)! Rigo was 37 when Loma fought him! Klitschko was 41 when Joshua fought him! I don't see this as a cherry pick! I see this as a chance to make history, and I think Canelo deserves nothing but applause!

Canelo's last fight was against Danny Jacobs at 160.

He is jumping literally 2 weight classes from that one to Kovalev at 175.

                  There is no denying it.

I would also want to know if the contract has a rehydration clause and other restrictions on Kovalev? He has at least 4 weeks less to prepare to the fight than Canelo - that's already a disadvantage. He's just been in a fight following a full camp - another one. DLH knows what he's doing and I have to give him credit for creating the best possible conditions for his fighter. Its not his job to care for the sport side of things, but, sadly, neither it is Canelo's from the looks of it.

And let me guess...Diva walks out into the ring last, right? I wonder if Canelo has a rider like some of the celebrities...fresh flowers every morning, pedicure for Chihuaha, basketball court in the suite, silk toilet paper, ban on mentioning the words: "drama", "show", "big"...
