No announcement yet.
Let's just call it how it is: Canelo is only fighting Kovalev because he is old

Any reasonable person looking at the scenario with an objective eye would be able to discern this as a cherry pick--including yourself, you're clearly just being disingenuous--deal with it, you dork. He is targeting the oldest, most shopworn champion at the weight, who has now exhibited clear signs of wear (albeit far from "shot") and has been stopped multiple times, has well known stamina issues and a suspect midsection. At the risk of sounding like a parrot - no Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, et al - just as there was no pursuit of Smith, Benavidez, Ramirez...only Fielding the autistic penguin. There is no reasoning your way around that.
Moving on, you're trying to accuse me of a contradiction that doesn't exist. Yes, I feel Canelo and co. have cherry picked Kov in the sense of pursuing him based directly on perceived weaknesses they feel they can successfully exploit (as does most everyone else who isn't ****** or comically naive) and I also feel Kov will likely prove more of a live wire than anticipated.
...In other words, I absolutely do suspect a challenging fight, and am simply highlighting what I feel to be the possible disparity between Canelo's thoughts on the matter (ripe for the picking!) and the actual reality of the situation (uh-oh! Harder than I thought! He's really lighting my stocky manlet ass up with that jab!). It's a "contradiction" only for someone with the intellect of a fish stick.
Nice try lumping me in with the idiots who actually tried to frame the Rolls fight as anything other than a true nadir (do you know what that means without googling?) for Golovkin even by stay busy/network debut standards, btw, and nothing I've said here suggests I place the two fights on conparable footing. You're welcome to peruse my history; you'll find nothing of the sort. Scamper off into the shadows like a good little red k ****roach, now. Good boy.Last edited by Sweet Scions; 08-28-2019, 12:02 AM.

Most boxers prefer the most money for the least risk. Can't blame Canelo for this business decision. Kovalev should look at the history of fighters that cut weight and change his mind, unless he is cashing out. A unification bout will not get him as much money and perhaps he thinks those would not be winnable either.

It's opportunistic pursuit of a particular opponent in a given context (i.e. a strap at a particular weight), nothing more. They aren't all equal in severity. Relative to what he could pursue for the equivalent prize at the weight, it comes off as a cherry pick, obvious alt of other random red imbecile I've inevitably rubbed the wrong way. Nor is cherry picking as a strategy necessarily at odds with a fight that turns out to be highly competitive. Again, very easy to understand for anyone who isn't a mouthbreathing twit. Please do run along; I don't have time for this ****** nonsense.

If you want to say Canelo is cherry picking LHWs, then go fk yourself. Kovalev has the biggest name and best resume of all the current champs in LHW. You're just an idiot trying to discredit Canelo and Kovalev at all cost.

If Duva is being consistent till the end, it’s still agreed to 175 on the scales. Now a morning limit the day of the fight really needs much scrutiny? If Kovalev TRULY wants to stay tip top then he has sacrifice muscle mass not rehydration (water). That’s all done in camp.
Knowing Kovalev’s history of camps and alcoholism it surprises me how fans see this as a disadvantage or tragedy for Kovalev when first and foremost all of us all acknowledging a nice pay for the Krusher.
If GBP pushes for a 10lb Max the morning of I don’t see why people are crying unless they want unlimited. Krusher can still come as he pleases in the ring.
People now crying age too...
Truth is Canelo haters don’t want this on his resume as he continues for greatness.

..You're also willfully overlooking that I flat out said I actually like this fight, RK. Why? Because you either didn't read all I originally wrote or it's inconvenient for the cartoonish militant hater accusation you're trying to push on me. Move along.
