In America...no it is not a popular Sports APP at all, people only tune in for Canelo when he fights mostly right now. Sadly for DAZN US, they won't be able to capitalize on AJ vs Ruiz rematch if they fight in Saudi Arabia because it won't be on in Prime Time as well as going head to head with a very popular weak of College Football which is Conference Championship week. Particularly SEC Football Championship which typically includes Alabama the biggest Ratings Drawing College Football Team here in America

So no Ellerbe is not wrong, when you're trying to build up a brand as well as your popularity as a young fighter...DAZN is NOT the best place to start in America because unless you're fight on Canelo card, you will not be seen by many. DAZN works for someone like Canelo though, who is Bringing as massive Pre-Installed Fanbase with him to the APP so he automatically moves the Needle when he fights which is why he got the biggest deal of them all and rightfully so

So Ellerbe is right in Tank situation, DAZN is not the best place for him RIGHT NOW as they're still in the process of building him up. Showtime is not really the best place for him either. Needs to be on CBS and FOX if anything. Once he build that following then you can move around from Platform to Platform carrying a massive fanbase with you and requiring big money

Honestly, Farmer is not even WORTH $2 Million and he is certainly not worth more when his last fight he was the Undercard and he was booed out of the building and bashed by fan on Social Media for his style. So Mayweather Promotions is ****** for offering him that much as well as trying to do a PPV with HIM and that Style? After that recent Performance?

Would much rather give that to Miguel Berchelt and more if needed to make that Unification instead. Even a great story like Andrew Cancio why not let him get himself a huge Payday since Farmer thinks he is now this Superstar over on DAZN

And better for the fans too. To me, it is all about the scintillating match ups, not where they are seen.

IMHO, it's about as valid as a high school kid who's reputation is "most popular" telling you not to waste your time befriending the "loser" new kid who's reputation is of "most friendly" or "most likely to succeed".

I use the high school analogy because that argument is quite juvenile.

        Bottom line is.........
        #1 GUARANTEED HUGE MONEY
#2 You win that fight and the rest of the world who didn't watch other than the 10 folks subscribed to DAZN(sarcasm btw) Will definitely find out about it and just may want to watch your next fight
#3 GUARANTEED HUGE MONEY(deserves another mention)
#4 boxing is prize fighting not a narcissist pageant. Who the hell cares if only 1 or a BILLION watch if you're getting GUARANTEED HUGE MONEY??(see what I did there with the money part?)
#5 it's a win win for the fighters and us fans, they get paid GUARANTEED HUGE MONEY and we get to save ourselves from bending over to paying PPV prices everytime a good fight is put together! For a fan, what possible sane argument is there against that??

If I see 3 doors in front of me, each one leads to showing a fight, I will watch the best one live and the least one on replay. Sometimes DAZN has the best on one weekend, ESPN+ on the next weekend, and PBC/Fox on another weekend. What I despise are people who are biased for against one platform or network and are so ***ing biased or racist that they want to see one fail just because they hate Oscar or Haymon or Hearn. That is petty, lame, and pathetic. Demand the best fights no matter who is holding them. Each network is to blame for bad match ups as well as responsible for putting on great fights which all of them have done.

I’m biased against dazn and espn+ because they want me to pay a fee and what they’re asking isn’t worth what they’re offering.

                That’s it.

If dazn wants to give it to me for free like PBC on Fox or ESPN does sometimes on its cable TV network (yes, I pay a fee for that, but it’s part of a sports package that gets me a lot more on my cable and I’m comfortable paying that for all I get), I’m all for it.

Maybe once or twice a year I’ll spring for a PPV. So far it hasn’t been one that I’d be willing to pay for on dazn.

So when a company’s entire model is build around telling me I should subscribe because they’re offering PPV fights without the PPV price ... and then delivers FS1 level crap most of the time and still wants me to pay for it, you can call me biased against them but to me it’s no more biased than if a restaurant charged $25 for a Big Mac/large fries combo.

I would turn around and ask him if they fight and put on shows for viewership numbers or for revenue. Last I checked a promoter doesn't care about who watches so long as the receipts are correct. Would Ellerbe as a CEO not take the same revenue of a 1m ppv selling event if only 50 people got to see it?

It would be more like Burger King offering a different product than McDonalds and both may be the same value but one charges more for a different item that should be the same price. If I want that different item or items (aka different fighters, additional match-ups) then I'll need to pay more for it or I'll never get to consume that product.

If the only way you or I can see certain fighters we want to see or certain match-ups that are on only DAZN or ESPN+, etc, etc, it is up to us to decide if we want to pay to not be left in the dark. To each his own. There are great fighters and match ups on all the networks.

If paying is the only way I'm going to see ALL the fights I want to see, then I am paying. No 1 or 2 networks is going to offer me the gamut of fights. I am biased against missing the fights I want to see and I would expect everyone else is too, whatever the cost is for serious boxing fans who can afford it, so it is what it is. For me to get the full boxing treatment in life, the ensemble of each collective a la carte source, then I need DAZN, ESPN, ESPN+, PBC/FS1/Showtime.

The point is, many people are biased against those networks for the wrong reasons and want to see them fail for the wrong reasons.

If the money is there, there's no reason not to do it. They're a new/growing app. I suspect his excuse ties into who he's friends with.
