Usyk is my boy but this fight might go all wrong. I never felt it when it was announced the first time, not now either. Takam is a very good, compact boxer, with lots of skills. Slippery and bully. I was impressed against Parker. I thought he won that fight.

Usyk is amazing. I wouldn't match him against Takam in a heavyweight debut fight. Bad styles. I'd have matched him against bigger, one dimensional, face first fighters, like Price and his ilk.

      I'll watch.

      War Usyk!

I'd really like to see Usyk take a couple fights to get used to the weight. Takam, Chisora, H. Fury, Parker would all be good tests.

Those would be easier for him. Even Parker I won't worry much.

But I might be inclined to agree on the size and power. He’s VERY good but is he THAT much more skilled to fight the giants?
That is the question, huh? Can he generate more "oomph" behind his punches, which come from all angles? If he can, then HW will be way more interesting. If not, than Usyk will find the better part of this division will just walk through his "oomph-less" offense.

I really hope he can bring some power. This guy is a patient assassin. He would really add a type of fighter the HW division does not have.

Yeah I knew it. Everytime his heavyweight debut gets announced it doesn't seem to happen for some reason.

You can still struggle and get a KO, no?

                    Toney-Nunn

                    Froch-Taylor

                    Etc

I wouldn't say Usyk struggled though myself

Takam is 38 years old, lost by TKO to Chisora recently, is the same height as Usyk and only has a 2 inch reach advantage. This fight doesn't really prepare Usyk for the other heavyweights or do anything for him.

It will be great to see Usyk at heavyweight, though. He and Loma are on another level.
chisora, pulev, povetkin or whyte would be SO MUCH. cooler. but takam is a decent opponent for first fight at a new weight class, moreso if it werent usyk.
