I think some fans are looking at the career of Davis from a pure boxing standpoint and not a business standpoint. Fans are looking at who would pose a threat versus who would help Davis towards becoming a PPV star like his team mentioned multiple times as their ultimate and primary objective.

For the risk those fighters take in the ring, the ones with “potential” to be a box office PPV Star such as a Davis, will have careers carefully guided to set up the bigger monetary fights in the future. And every fight taken and scheduled will be towards that goal, building towards earning the most money in the ring while taking the least amount of damage.

Floyd and his team probably know better than anyone when they believe they have something on their hands to that end to attempt to duplicate their prior blueprint. Having multiple titles and eventually titles in multiple divisions, taking the least amount of losses, taking the least amount damage, while building up enough of your resume and perception with the boxing public’s is their strategy. Again, Floyd knows that better than anyone. Us fans don’t have to agree with it but it’s the reality today for the fighters that show enough potential, especially after the (2) deaths in the ring and prior deaths in the ring before.
    Very well said.

Tank Davis is special! No doubt! But PPV Star? Nah! I hope Floyd and DiBella can make Davis vs. Farmer happen, but I know Floyd won't let it be on DAZN! Tank vs. LSC or GRJ seems more realistic! I'm good with either one! Put Gamboa vs. Mares on the undercard!

He probably could be but they always have him fighting bums!

He doesn't have any good names under him.

Tank is special, but we have to think about the rabbits too. Tank isn't about gently boxing for a decision, he seriously concusses people. Letting him blaze through the C class and blown up bantamweights is dangerous.

I feel bad for Davis, he seems kind of slow. He was genuinely excited last night by the home crowd leaving the ring which is great but the poor guy struggles to get a sentence out in interviews. I hope he doesn't take the heel turn and turn into Broner 2.0 to try to sell PPV.

Seems like a decent kid, let's hope he doesn't get himself in trouble.

              Two years away??
I can tell you're a Mayweather/PBC nuttrider and you're hoping Loma ages in the next two years huh??
              You fuccing clown!
You should be hoping they fight soon not in two years!
That fight will be huge right now!

I wouldn't say that necessarily. If Davis catches Loma, he is going down and staying down. I give the edge to Loma in a fight today but it's not a sweep. Pedraza got hands on Loma so...
Well that's the beauty of boxing! I also favor Loma but Tank has that power so it would be a great fight to make in the near future not in two years like that clown Bundini is suggesting,.. ..
Fucc waiting for Loma to age, I wanna see them fight soon!

Thanks! And shortly after I made this comment about this, Floyd says this in the most recent posted article on boxing scene. Here is his quote.

“Mayweather said he would want a Davis-Farmer fight to be mark Davis’ debut as a pay-per-view headliner. Despite Davis’ obvious popularity in his hometown, where a capacity crowd of 14,686 attended Saturday’s show, Mayweather thinks a Davis-Farmer fight likely would take place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
“I’m pretty sure the Tevin Farmer fight will probably be in New York City, or somewhere on the East Coast,” Mayweather said. “But Tank, like I said before, when he keep going out here and performing like he’s performing, eventually he’s gonna be in Vegas, doing what I did. So, all he gotta do is keep winning, stay focused and soon he’ll be selling arenas out all over the world. And that’s the ultimate goal.”

I think your missing a key ingredient to being a PPV Star, winning and a consistent winning streak and winning and building up another winning streak after taking a loss or two.
