That was the context Floyd made the statement. He was saying that they were trying to build him into a ppv star.

I like Tank but he needs to step it up and fight Berchelt or Tevin Farmer... Those will be great fights!
And Tank will get his ass schooled by Lomachenko.... FACTS!

I don’t think he is at the moment but will be. He’s just being moved along slowly and probably for his own good. He’s got the hip hop community already watching despite his opponent. A couple of big named opponents and he’s sure to break out and become a household name.

GAMBOA or FARMER shall be next. The LOMO fight might be 2 years away. By that time it will be huge.

What is Mayweather supposed to say? It's called "promoting". The kid looks great so far against limited competition and does well in front of the cameras. People love the "thanking god" comments. He definitely seems to be one of the most talent young cats out there. If you enjoy boxing as much as I do then Davis keeps you tuned in!

Does Berchelt want it? They talked about making the farmer fight last night.

I wouldn't say that necessarily. If Davis catches Loma, he is going down and staying down. I give the edge to Loma in a fight today but it's not a sweep. Pedraza got hands on Loma so...

I posted this in response to someone else so I will leave it here.

Garry Russell has stated Tank is protected and don’t want the fight. Tank is certainly very talented but highly protected which is why the Gamboa fight seems far more achievable than Gary Russell Jr., LSC, Berchelt, Loma, any real threats. Gamboa may not be worthy as you put it but less of a threat, just what his Daddy Floyd prefers.
I think some fans are looking at the career of Davis from a pure boxing standpoint and not a business standpoint. Fans are looking at who would pose a threat versus who would help Davis towards becoming a PPV star like his team mentioned multiple times as their ultimate and primary objective.

For the risk those fighters take in the ring, the ones with “potential?to be a box office PPV Star such as a Davis, will have careers carefully guided to set up the bigger monetary fights in the future. And every fight taken and scheduled will be towards that goal, building towards earning the most money in the ring while taking the least amount of damage.

Floyd and his team probably know better than anyone when they believe they have something on their hands to that end to attempt to duplicate their prior blueprint. Having multiple titles and eventually titles in multiple divisions, taking the least amount of losses, taking the least amount damage, while building up enough of your resume and perception with the boxing public’s is their strategy. Again, Floyd knows that better than anyone. Us fans don’t have to agree with it but it’s the reality today for the fighters that show enough potential, especially after the (2) deaths in the ring and prior deaths in the ring before.

I'm glad Tank called out Farmer let's just hope Mayweather makes it next. Davis can't make 130 for too much longer time to step it up to the big boys at lightweight

Maybe PPV after he's fought a live dog.
