    Of course there is.
Instead of fighting GGG, Andrade, Charlo or whoever else inthe top 5 at 160 he will go drain Kovalev down to a skeleton and feast on the corpse..

At least I'm not paying $75 to watch it

Idk how you can give someone zero credit cuz of a catchweight & hydration clause.

Granted I think you could suggest it lowers the credit anyone should give. But zero credit is TOO extreme.

I agree 100%. These weight cuts for title matches are ruining the sport. Throw in the multiple titles (?) in each weight class, rival promotors that won't talk, rival broadcasters that freeze out fighters and no one enforcing the Ali act.

Cotto forced Sergio Martinez to come down to 159 or no fight. Sugar Ray Leonard forced Lalonde a light heavyweight to go down all the way to 168 or he wouldn't fight him. All these guys justified it by saying I have already moved up mulitple weight classes in my career your weight is not my natural weight.

Canelo has already moved up what 5 weight classes through out his career won titles in 3 different weights. Jumped up to 160 and whooped the so called boogyman at his own weight. He is a natural middleweight weight you want him to jump up 2 full weight classes, give up 15lbs and you think Kovalev shouldn't have to sacrifice a thing to get the fight?
This catchweight isn't exclusive to Canelo. It's BS no matter who does it.

I used to be a big Canelo fan but he lost me when hw wouldn't give GGG an immediate rematch and instead refuses to fight him at all. He told GGG he must beat Andrade to get a fight with him as if he can tell GGG what to do. Now he refuses to fight Andrade and instead wants to drain Kovalev. GGG would have fought him in May but Canelo fought a guy GGG already beat instead. Canelo is supposed to be this great middleweight champion but he won't fight the number 1 middleweight in the world in GGG and he won't fight any of the other middleweight champs, Jermall, Brant, or Andrade. Canelo doesn't want to unify 160. That was just an excuse not to fight GGG until he turns 40. If Canelo is not going to fight at 160 anymore he should just come out and say so.

                    Canelo can.

WBC Super Welterweight Title vs Cuello
                    Catchweight 151lbs

WBC Super Welterweight Title vs Baldomir
                    Catchweight 151lbs

WBC Super Welterweight Title vs Matthew Hatton
Catchweight 149lbs (which Canelo came in 2lbs over for)

I'd continue, but almost all of his big fights after those were catchweights. Super Welterweight 149-154, Middleweight 155-160, Super Middleweight 164-168 with hydration clauses.

Anything to give an advantage to a fighter whos fans scream that he started at welterweight even though he was a 15 year old boy.

Maybe it's because I grew up in awe of James Toney that I don't understand these diva's arguing over one pound and having catchweights for everything.
