Bob Arum not considering Bud Crawford for PPV

So what are your thoughts on Bob recently saying he won't put Bud in a PPV fight until a Spence fight?
Do you think it was a good idea for Bud to resign to Top Rank?
Would he have done better in another promo company?

Arum has no choice. Crawford has asterisks next to every welterweight win. He threw low on Khan out of frustration after failing to get a KO on the 'glass jaw'.

Crawford has to perform at a high level to draw casuals. He hasn't done that.

I totally agree, Bud is a great boxer, but my stance has been for a long time that he has not proven himself yet in the welterweight division. Beating sloppy Horn, washed up weak-chinned Khan who has been KO'd so many times and beating Benavidez with a big leg deficiency doesn't prove much at all. His next fight will most likely be another uninteresting matchup. Things don't look good for Bud. His personality doesn't help either in drawing fans.

Only reason why certain fights are on PPV is because some fighters want too much money for fights they think are tough to handle. PPV is a way to make them agree to it. If it sells, you get what you're asking for. If not, there's nothing you can do about it.

So, does that mean Bob will actually want to make the Spence fight? I think it is long overdue that we get this Crawford Spence fight on, but we will likely have to wait until 2020 at best, which is no good.

The posturing just gets so old, we all want the fight to happen and it probably would be the break out success for the winner of that fight. It could potentially make the winner a PPV star.

And a PPV is only going to make PROFIT if you pull casual money. Not fans. That's what people don't get.

A casual dialed in to Crawford/Khan thinking this guy was hype and all the walked away with was, "I thought that Pakistani guy had a glass chin and this Crawford was a great fighter. So why'd he have to low blow him?"

A casual dialed in to Crawford/Horn and walked away with, "Why'd the ref stop it? The white guy wasn't hurt!"

A casual dialed in to Crawford/Benavidez and walked away with, "it sure took him a long time, I thought he was some dangerous opponent. And isn't that Mexican guy crippled or something?"

So what reason does a casual have to pony up $60+ to watch another fight? Crawford ain't done a damn thing to show he's worth that money. That's been my problem with him. Good fighter, but he ain't showing up at welterweight.

              Compared to
Thurman who has clean, solid fight wins over Porter and Garcia

Porter who has a clean, solid fight win over Garcia

Garcia who has clean, solid fight wins over guys like Erik Morales who are named fighters

Pacquiao who has a clean win over Adrien Broner, a named fighter

Crawford's performance is garbage in comparison to that list and that's not even all of them.

Don't nobody here hate Crawford. We're just not overrating him like some feel compelled to.

I asked multiple times for anyone - ANYONE - to name one elite fighter Terence Crawford has beat. One.
