    NSB PICK 'EM 2019 #35. 8th June 2019

    Saturday 8th June 2019

Madison Square Garden, NY, USA (UTC-4)

    Gennady Golovkin vs Steve Rolls

    BETTING ODDS:

    Golovkin: -5000 Rolls: +1400 (x4 on Rolls)

    Ways fighters can win:

    Decision: WIDE or CLOSE
KO: EARLY (1-4), MID (5-8) or LATE (9-12)

Examples of the ways you can state your decision:

PICK EM CREW, Rolls, Dec, close x3
PICK EM CREW, GOLOVKIN, KO, MID. x2
If no multiplier is specified in your pick (ie x2, x3) then it will be assumed that no multiplier is being used (x1)
If you wish to pick a Draw result, simply state your Username, both fighter names and DRAW, ie:

PICK EM CREW, Golovkin, Rolls, DRAW
IMPORTANT NOTE: NONE OF THE WBSS FIGHTS CAN BE SCORED A DRAW - ONE FIGHTER WILL ALWAYS BE DECLARED A WINNER. ANY UNCORRECTED DRAW PICKS ON THE WBSS WILL BE WASTED.

    NOTES:
-Picking the correct winner earns 20 pts
-Picking the correct method earns 10 pts
-Picking the correct detail is worth 10 pts
-Draws are worth 120 pts. A perfect pick without a multiplier is 40pts.

-CLOSE is <12 pts difference, or anything closer than 116-112 on all three scorecards. WIDE is >=12 pts difference, or anything equivalent to 116-112 on all three cards or wider.

-If you'd like to change your pick before the fight starts, post in this thread to do so. Ideally tag me so that I don't miss it.

-2X doubles your points and 3X triples your points. Everyone starts with 5 doubles and 3 triples to use throughout the year. If you forget how many you have left, check the leaderboard in the master thread.

Rolls should have a 100x bonus IMO.

Had to think seriously about whether to put this one in... no title on the line, and an almost absurd mismatch on paper - the only real intrigue is that Rolls is unbeaten and Golovkin hasn't fought since the Canelo loss and has hit his 37th year. In the end it was the fact that GGG is still considered a P4P talent according to most sources and remains one of the stars of the sport that swung it. Besides - as we saw only a few days ago - anything can happen.

      Good luck gentlemen.

I should have saved my x3 for fights like this.

You're probably right, man. As I mentioned above I wasn't sure at all if I should put this one in, but at least we got more points riding on the method and detail than we did last year... 'sides, Rolls ain't actually that much bigger an underdog than Ruiz was per the bookies (though he damn well should be)... anything can happen.

Not that it will make a difference in the outcome but another factor is size. Rolls is the naturally bigger guy. Golovkin has never fought above 161 and Rolls regularly fights at 168 and has fought as high as 174.

Slick Golovkin will want to take Rolls some rounds to showcase his skill
