Comments Thread For: Malignaggi: I Thought Joshua Was a Level Above Ruiz, I Was Wrong

The new IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion caused one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight history on Saturday night at New York's Madison Square Garden, where he stunned Joshua to stop him in the seventh round.

I agree Paulie, I think Ruiz has AJ’s number and will do a worse job on him in the rematch!

So many changes AJ has to do in less than 9 months!

Ruiz turned so many people into a fan and has become a star!

Malignaggi had a very good career, especially considering
his lack of KO-power. No need to be sour and butthurt
        because Joshua was exposed.
You were right that Joshua should take notes from these
folks. He might still be undefeated if he had Malignaggi's
        defensive skill.

He's everything Malignaggi will never be in terms of success, acclaim, notoriety and fame.

Malignaggi is a bum that got spurned and sparked out cold by bums and he'll get decapitated soon in bare knuckle fighting, lol.

Joshua lost from a butter bean Fatso. that would be rubbing salt on wound. had it been fury or wilder, that would still be fine

                  We were all wrong.

I don't even think Ruiz's team thought he could win.

However, they had a good game plan.

Unlike Joshua, Mallignaggi was not stopped in his prime.
Joshua's acclaim, fame, and notoriety was mostly limited
to the UK, and was mostly fueled by naive patriotism.
Joshua will be remembered similarly to Lucian Bute, who
was also popular & undefeated until he left his own
backyard. At least Bute was beaten by Froch, a fighter
held in high regard. Joshua was beaten by a major
underdog who was the butt of jokes.
I can understand why that's hard for you to accept,
but you should try to show as much class as Joshua has.
Joshua is behaving like a gentleman while his fans are
                    having tantrums.
