And too right Ruiz should be a star, he’s the American. I hope his home city in California throws him a parade and gives him the key to the city as well as getting a advertising contract for snickers

Ruiz will have the Mexican & Mexican-Americans people tuning in. He can easily sell more tickets than Wilder did (how are Fury's tix sales going so far anyway?)

Some of you guys are acting like Ruiz is a new guy on the scene. Ruiz has been a pro for a decade. No one cared about him for a decade. I'll bet against him suddenly becoming the HW Canelo off of 1 fight. A guy becoming huge off of 1 fight is some movie sh^t. Its not real sh^t that happens in boxing.

Floyd built his rep for years in multiple divisions to get his opportunity to become huge in the Oscar fight. Same for Manny who also got huge from the Oscar fight. Tito. Oscar himself. Tyson. Holyfield. Lennox. GGG. Canelo. All these guys built themselves & their reps for years to become stars.

Ruiz got the right situation on one night & he's been fumbling around the HW division for a decade not getting attention or accolades.

Winky didn't become a star cuz he beat Tito. Rahman & McCall didn't become stars cuz they beat Lennox. Buster didn't become a star cuz he beat Tyson. And Ruiz isn't gonna become a star cuz he beat Joshua. Its just not that easy.

This sh^t don't work like some of you guys are acting like it does. This ain't a Rocky movie.

Man, I really hope they do a Snickers ad where an AJ/Adonis type eats one and turns into a heroic fat-guy Ruiz type :')

Guy is pretty much undefeated if you, like many did, believe he should've gotten the nod against Parker. He was a hot prospect and many were propping him a potential champion years ago but like always, people will give up on a guy who takes a loss even if it's controversial.
The loss and the way he looks. It's hard to have faith in someone who looks like they aren't serious, but he is.

A nice post & a bunch of valid points by u yet I wouldnt call G a star because his ass couldnt do above 170k😂 PPV buys without Alvarez dont get me wrong he's a good fighter but not a star since his fight with Vanes got moved from Vegas to the small ass Stub Hub Center cause he doesnt have star power

Back to Ruiz he probably isnt a star right away yet he has Potential Star Power since being fluent in two languages that dominates the programming in this country will get way more attention from the Latinos for this division Hell since Mexico is stinkin it up in soccer so far watch this dude be interviewed by Telemundo, Spanish ESPN, Fox Deportes, UDN, for all of June FS1 as well since he is an Haymon fighter too. His IG is followed more than Spence, Crawford, etc & this dude can easily set an attendance record at Banc Of California Stadium or help Canelo fill up the 80,000 seater stadium Aztec Stadium if Saul fights a scrub and people aren't interested in going.

GGG is one of the most popular fighters in boxing today. He sucks at selling PPV's but Cotto was always better as the B side on PPV's to & he was one of the most popular fighters of his time too.

Sh^t man lotsa guys have "potential star power". Very few flip it into real stardom.

Spence & Bud ain't stars so what does it matter if he's got more IG followers then them?

Ryan Garcia is huge on SM & he's not a star. I think people are misunderstanding real popularity & SM popularity too now that you bring it up. SM popularity is a bit of a racket if you know the game. You can buy followers. There are tricks to getting more followers. There are tactics to becoming big on SM basically that don't necessarily mean anything in the real world. It means something I don't deny, but calculating true popularity needs a more well rounded approach then merely follower counts.

And maybe Ruiz can be a star in Mexico idk. Its probably worth less money doe. I don't see Ruiz being a star in the US anytime soon I know that. Respect to him on the W, but transitioning that W into stardom isn't an easy thing.
