When fighting a guy his size. Marquez came up in weight to that class for the first time and Floyd came in over the contracted limit. Nobody expected Marquez to win even before Mayweather came in heavy. It was a mismatch. It wasa similar situation to Garcia coming up to fight Spence. Put Marquez in with someone his own size and it's different. By the way Marquez was roided up for the Pacquiao fight IMO.

if resume is the MAIN factor..... then Pac is #1, and Golovkin is gone..... there is no way to spin that

if style / skills / form are the MAIN factor, with resume adding additional weight to the argument..... then erosion of skills/form explain why Pac has dropped off the list, and it explains why Golovkin is on the list to begin with

like I said, you need to have a decent amount of knowledge and understanding..... I told everyone that Golovkin was ranked too high P4P, and we saw him drop after fights with Jacobs and Canelo..... and I had Loma as a future P4P #1 well-over two years ago

This is no longer about anyone specifically. To me anyway (I dealt with the p4p issue in another comment).

You shouldn't assume you're the only one with a decent amount of knowledge. TBF, 99 % of people here make the same claim !

Resumes gives a person all the important info they need. It will PROVE who an elite boxer is. You can disagree with me but I doubt you can refute it.

I have to agree with author of this article. While Canelo is a great fighter and is among the discussion of the best Pound for Pound fighters in the world; He is in no way the best fighter in the world.

The reason is he doesn't dominate his opposition like Terence Crawford or Vasiliy Lomachenko do. Most of the times he just barely ekes out close and sometimes controversial decision victories like he recently did against Danny Jacobs and in his two fights against Gennady Golovkin.

In addition, he popped dirty for doping and PED use; Which is something that he will never be able to live down. Now his reputation is irreparably harmed while his legacy is forever tarnished.

Moreover, we don't how long he had been cheating. Therefore, when history records and judges his career; It's going to have to put several asterisks on many of his victories.

1-Crawford and Lomachenko are fighting with bums, the best rival that Crawford faced was a small Gamboa and he had a lot of troubles.

Lomachenko only faced two elite rivals: salido and Russell JR.

Salido beat Loma.

Big difference in canelo defeated by Floyd at 23 years old.

2-Only haters like you think that.

Science showed that Canelo doping was because the tainted meat.

He is enrolled with the hardest VADA test last 3 fights and he showed that his strenght is natural.

3-Lomachenko LOST against Salido.

The only that beat Canelo was Floyd, not Lara, and not GGG, only in their wet dreams of the haters those fighters won a fight against Canelo.

Were competitive fights but the result was fair. A close win against Lara and a Draw against GGG in the first.

4-Canelo has a tremendous skillset, he is a high level fighter and he showed this against P4P rivals, not sh.its like Postol, Linares, Horn, Marriagas.
