Jacob's has no punch selection that he can use to go to head or body. His offense is basically made up on the spot. His switch to southpaw proves my point. He just lacks a high boxing iq.
Great point. His offense lacks any kind of depth. He's not setting things up rounds in advance. He's just trying to land without a larger plan in mind. On the other hand, maybe Canelo's disruptive jab and movement had something to do with that. But overall Jacobs' performance was a turd.

And with Jacobs he made him miss and miss badly. Look at the compubox numbers of Jacobs last 8 fights before Canelo then look at the fight with Canelo. Went from landing 32+% in each to 20% with Canelo. That was the difference. Canelo made him miss badly and also made him pay for it as Canelo landed at over 40%.
Canelo weather you like it or not is the pound for pound best in boxing and is the face of it as well. He is leagues better now in my opinion then Floyd ever was. Floyd beat a green young Canelo but truthfully I don't think a prime Floyd would stand a chance against this Canelo but again at 160 not a weight drained 152 either.
But to add to that last statement I don't think Canelo would be the boxer he is today without that loss to Floyd then!
Hold on your horses. fraud was 36 years old on his way down and ginger had over 40 fights at that time. ginger made a career out of draining his opponents or fighting smaller boxers. he even "won" his 154 first belt at a catch weight of 150lbs and still, came up overweight. Not to mention he was fighting a welterweight that was not even ranked in the first 20.

That's why i stopped watching boxing alot of these rights are so predictable it's crazy. They rather lose on the cards while doing nothing, than go for the gold and get knocked out. What was the last good elite fight we had in boxing ? It's like well since i didn't get knocked out i can still make good money. This boxing game is getting real old, real fast.
Agreed 100%. No more Mancini's, Duran, Hagler, Bobby Chacon, Azumah Nelson, Sal Sanchez, morales, Barrera, Boza-Edwards, Arguello, Olivares, marquez, Casamayor, Napoles, Legra, Rodriguez, Foreman, holyfield, Tyson, Finito and others that are not escaping my mind but the list will be too long.

Folks want to box scientifically like Floyd and use a measured pace. The problem is that dudes such as Jacobs perceive that as being unagressive, which is a horrible mistake. Floyd could coast and clearly win rounds because he didn't get hit! Guys like Jacobs who try to box get hit too much and leave too many toss-up rounds out there.

Hall of fame... I seem to remember Lance Armstrong being held in the most negative light when he failed a drug test, but this ginger little prick gets a pass? Oooookay....

Because he likes using his huge size to his advantage, which is his biggest advantage against all other middleweights. He is not the fastest, hardest hitting, smartest, but he is the biggest. That goes out the window at 168lbs. Plus he does not trust his chin to take a punch from a super middleweight. Considering 168lbs is not that strong a division anymore that just shows how little confidence Jacobs and his team has in his abilities and chin.

Canelo is already a lock first ballot HOFer. Just go through the list of accomplishes its not even debatable and he's only 28. He could get hit by a bus tomorrow he's in the Hall. The rest of his career is just about whether you have him at ATG or how far he climbs as a ATG
