Some people are taking this Vargas **** to the heart.
My sister is married to a mexican, they are in relation by in-law. Nobody wants to "be" whatever race is in my family. In that case, they would want to be a bunch of puerto rican/american black folks which is hardly the case. So what..your supposed to cheer for someone who is the same race as you no matter the idiocy that person displays? If that was the case, id be the biggest camacho jr fan on the planet. Which would be ******ed since i cant stand the guys inconsistency. I think your grip on reality is very warped and I think statements like this only fuel the reaons as to why this place is so moronic sometimes.

You dont need to like a boxer of a certain race to have pride in your race, there are far more important and proactive ways to have pride than watching a loud mouthed moron get his block knocked off every 2 years. Get a ****in grip.

there is 4 things that changed vargas career:
      1. fighting tito trinidad
      2. steroid use going into the dlh fight.
      3. the back problems
      4. extreme balloning up in weight between fights.

all these things together lead to the end of his career.

Vargas is done. He lost the 4 biggest fights of his life all by knockout. He was a cool dude, but I hope people don't overrate him in the future because in all honesty he accomplished next to nothing in terms of boxing aside from winning some meaningless titles. His best win is against Ike Quartey, which means jack **** in boxing considering most of the general public has no clue who Quartey is. Most people felt he lost to Wright also. I love Vargas and his style, but he was nowhere close to a great or elite fighter.

thats a load of crap. Vargas was the price of the ticket not Mosely. Sure Mosely deserves millions but he made 3mill not 4mill hombre.

hahahahaha, yeah man that's true. I was rooting for him vs. trinidad but i wasn't ever a huge fan of his. he was like im a mexican that doesn't run like DLH, but after the fight i was like damn, maybe you should have run, at least a little. it was a great fight but that **** ruined him, i guess we should appreciate him because he went to war with guys who beat his ass for our viewing pleasure. When DLH beat his ass, i was jumping around cuz DLH does his talking in the ring.

i guess i just never liked real arrogant mouthy guys, especially if they got their ass handed to them every time they stepped up.

Nice post. I agree with everything except number 1. I don't agree with one boxing ruining you... There is a minimal chance one fight has that big of an effect on you. Heavyweights are a little different with that rule though.

he was never the same after Tito. after the tito fight he took some time off then fought Wilfredo Rivera and got dropped with a soft short right hand. Before Tito, Vargas had never been dropped. The tito fight was a systematic 12 round beating not just one punch. That fight damaged him.

This is pure speculation because I don't have the exact numbers: Vargas cumulatively made more money losing than winning(?)
