thing is that a lot of people did this jumping around divisions picking up a title, and although its a great thing to do, they arent all better than lennox, who crushed his entire division singlehanded.

the opposing argument is that May was the Prince of jumping divisions, to an extent few others replicated.

Lennox did truly rule though. There is no question he faced all and beat them, avoiding noone, which cannot be said of Floyd.

This is why I think Hagler deserves more props than he gets in terms of P4P.

The first Castillo fight was razor thin and could have gone either way. Exactly the same scenario as Lewis-Mercer.

Lennox Lewis put on his twitter at the time of the glove fiasco with Mayweather and Maidana that he chose his opponents gloves all the time. There were multiple threads on here about it. That actually happened whether you believe it or not. As if I'd make something like that up Ridiculous.

as I said to you the gloves were already chosen and passed to fight by NSAC and there is a video of both fighters choosing the gloves it was then Mayweather refused to fight maidana until he agreed to fight with grant gloves and even upped up maidanas purse by 2 million if he boxed with grant....far different from choosing fight gloves in the contract lol

P4P and skill for skill its Floyd all day. However I give Heavyweights more credit than other weight classes. There is a reason that all of these fighters are kept separated from the heavies.

Heavyweight is where it's generally about who is actually the best fighter, not are you the best fighter who happens to be able to make a certain weight.

Depends? Lennox Lewis was the last man standing arguable in the second greatest heavyweight era ever! 'The 90's was the greatest heavyweight era since the 70's.

And Lennox Lewis was the last man to hold he heavyweight title, when it was still universally seen as the single greatest title any INDIVIDUAL man can hold. The heavyweight champion of the world was on par with the Olympics, World Cup etc but going back in history it was a even more prestigious title than all of those titles.

It depends what you admire more.

What's the difference between choosing a fighters gloves before the fight and choosing a fighters gloves "after they're passed"? Whatever gloves Lewis' opponents would want would be approved.

It's the same thing. The A Side is choosing the opponents gloves.
