I'm a fan of Wilder's, but he shouldn't have been awarded rounds for what would've landed. No. He didn't earn that. He missed all night til the later rounds (9 and 12). I hate when judges give power punchers rounds based off of this.

Wilder's garnered a lot of casual fans because of his KO's, but none of them were able to explain what happened in the fight because they were waiting for a KO all night. Smh

Ringer generalship, effective pressure, and landed punches are supposed to win rounds and fights, not being awarded those "Oooh, had he landed that shot, the fight would've been over" rounds.
I can live with this, at the end of the day people would have different opinions, but to go all out to abuse this guy because he doesn't see it the Wilder way is crazy...I like some honest Wilder fans, but they like you are rare.

Phil Edwards did not. He had Wilder winning rounds 1, 6 and 7. Not the early rounds. I actually did think Wilder won 2 of the early rounds.

I don't know if people are blind have a terrible memory or what but Fury threw very few punches in the 1st few rounds Wilder was way more active early constantly landing the jab to the body.

He is speaking about Fury/Wilder here.
When Paulie didn't take his loss like man, it's funny now that he is playing the victim advocate for Fury.

A lot of people watched the fight, including me and I had it just like the ref, A Draw due to the knock downs. Which makes the total punch stats irrelevant in a sense because they were so close in punches landed. I don't think Wilder got credit for some of the punches he did land early in the fight either.
I literally just said I wasnt relying on punch stats...I scored the fight round by round and in almost every round I had Fury landing the cleaner shots and more often. The original posters comments about Wilder out-working Fury were nonsense (unless you consider thrown but missed shots as out-working) as was his statement that Fury got KO'd. We also saw Fury beat the count and go on to get the better of Wilder for the remainder of the round...

Yeah exactly because the rematch clause would come in to play. That's what they get for robbing Fury and ducking AJ.

A loss might have been better for him. He might have won the rematch by KO and increased his reputation. Instead 85% of people had him losing the fight and won't see him as the #1 guy until he wins the rematch.

Considering Golovkin got a draw then negotiated a better split for the rematch, then Fury got a draw and skipped out on the rematch, gotta expect promoters to start putting in some kind of clause where the 'A side' can force a rematch after a draw on the same financial terms as the first fight.

You said you used the punch stats to back up your claim but they can't back up your claim because they were relatively close and Fury got KD twice, that was my point.

I think you should watch the fight again if you think Fury wasn't getting outworked and constantly hit to the body with jabs cleanly in the 1st couple rounds Fury barely threw any punches, then got it going around rd 3 or so..

That's irrelevant and spinning again, he is analysing. And he is absolutely right, if Fury had got the win he would have NO where to go but rematch Wilder, if not he would have to drop the belt.

He also wouldn't have the ESPN contract that is paying him millions of dollars. These are what we should focus on not because he lost to Broner or got rob against Juan Diaz.
