Tyson continued to chase Smith around the ring and Smith continued to run and hold when Tyson got within striking distance.
A true great would have quickly realised that this was not working and attempted to do something out of the box!
You name it, he could have tried double feints, switch of stance, worked off the back foot, fast arm type combo's etc etc etc.
The problem was he didn't, he looked lost and it became more like a wrestling/ballroom dancing exhibition!
Tyson was a great fighter and probably the most exciting fighter of modern times but he was limited in ability, granted his hand and foot speed and power was amazing but in the end that was just not enough!
This of course is only my opinion, I am also a huge Tyson fan but I am also a fan of the sport and in my opinion he was not good enough to be classed as a p4p great!
I don't, I like Mike Tyson. I like him enough to give him respect where it's due and not blow his career out of all proportion like the typical Tyson nuthugger.
My point exactly!
Tyson was a very good heavyweight and he deserves respect for that but he is not one of the greats of the sport!
Agreed, but then again how can you be taken seriously if you write like a two year old?
Oh and you didn't answer my question earlier, do you remember the original Smith fight and the original fallout after the fight or is your opinion based on video footage from the eighties alone?
what the hell ru talking about. and sorry professor hatton if my spech isnt upto parewithyours

Well if it wasnt for "Iron" Mike. I wouldnt have ever known about Boxing. I became a fan about 4 months after the Mcbride fight. Because of Tyson I now know that the greatest sport is not football but the "Sweet Sience". Tyson did a lot for Boxing, he's done a lot for me. To me he is the greatest.

He's also done a lot to harm boxing. He became more known for his terrible out of ring antics rather than his skills between the ropes. You haven't been a boxing fan for very long perhaps when you see and learn more of other fighters you'll have a less biased oppinion.
And I agree, Boxing is the best sport and is way better than football.
