Comments Thread For: Malignaggi: Tom Schreck (117-109 For Thurman) Is A ****ty Judge

NEW YORK Paulie Malignaggi wasn't about to pick apart Keith Thurman's performance Saturday night. As a fan, the Showtime analyst thoroughly enjoyed Thurman's 12-round fight against Josesito Lopez from his ringside seat at Barclays Center. Thurman overcame severe trouble during the seventh round to win a majority decision and retained his WBA "super" world welterweight title.

Lol. Boxrec had it 117-109 Thurman too, ergo, Boxrec is a ****ty site....

Didn't actually see the fight, so no idea whether 117-109 reasonable or not.

There was a period between about 2004 and 2013 when I would stay up all night watching boxing. Any boxing that was on TV or streamable, I'd be watching. Didn't matter where it was coming from. A weekend without boxing felt weird. In the past 5-6 years however, the corrupt officiating has made me sick to my stomach. At first I stopped watching the smaller and obscure shows, because they are flat out fixed. If there were big fights on though I'd always watch. It used to be that I would put things off to stay home and watch boxing, but became were I'd watch boxing if I had no other plans. Nowadays though, the corruption has gotten so bad, I don't even watch the boxing regardless of whether I'm home or not. Not worth staying up all night to see the fix come in. I read about them in the morning and feel a sense of indifference now. I used to feel emotionally attached to boxing, almost fanatical. Don't feel anything anymore besides a growing sense of disgust at the corruption. All that's left to do is sit on Boxing Scene in the round by round threads, not taking anything serious. Can't get through a 4 or 5 fight card without corruption ruining the show. Every show it happens.

It was never that wide tbf, around 7-5 Thurman was the correct score IMO. Paulie just needs to let it go though...

I had Thurman winning like 115-111 or 116-110 so i didn't feel like it was that bad. I gave Josesito a 10-8 round in round 7 and I had him winning the 8th round. I also felt like he Won the 12th round and maybe also the 9th

8-4 Thurman! The Shiiiiity judge (Don Ackerman) who scored it 113-113 was the worst in my opinion! He gave Lopez 7 rounds! Really? It seems as if many judges score rounds for fighters who apply pressure even though they're not landing punches!

It wasn't that bad of a scorecard. Josesito Lopez won 3 rounds, maybe 4... Dan Ackerman's 113-113 was way worse.

11-1 Charlo from the son of PBC's unofficial scorer and 10-2 Thurman from Haymon's goon Tom Schreck.
