Last time I stepped on a scale I was 190. I need to get back to the gym, but more because my muscles are looking soft just from being lazy after work.

And I won’t talk on Adam because although I’m a fan, his sample size is much smaller, I also ragged on him for coming in too heavy against Martin which I felt had him looking more sluggish than usual. I felt his 240 against spilka was likely perfect for him, and him and his trainers said the same thing and trained accordingly. If it was a laziness issue we would hear about it. Some guys are just built like that though, Buster Mathis, Andy Ruiz Jr and Jarell Miller (especially Miller who’s body more resembles a power lifter) were all exceptionally quick and in good shape regardless of their appearances. Hell, buster’s career started to go down when he started to lose the weight
He hasn't been down at 240 since the Szpilka fight though. Very entertaining fighter, but being built like the Pillsbury Doughboy will eventually have consequences. In the interview, he says people compliment him on how great of a shape he's getting in, but he's actually been gaining more weight. Maybe he's gained more muscle mass, but he's still carrying excess fat too. I think beating Szpilka (similar dimensions but better physique) cemented the idea that he doesn't need to come in light to be successful, but it feels like an excuse to justify some negative behaviors. If he makes it to Wilder or Joshua, we will see if his weight isn't a hinderance.

To be honest, I thought his physique did look much better than the Martin fight even though he was only 6lbs less. It looked like he was more solid underneath the flab. Only going two rounds though, it’s tough to tell his endurance.

I remember the first fight Miller came in at 300lbs, I said in the weigh in tread that day “miller needs to decide if he wants to be a power lifter or a boxer. He can’t go in there at 300lbs and compete”

I looked like an idiot that night as he went 12 rounds and threw 65 punches a round without breathing heavy.

I also think it depends on their childhoods too. These aren’t athletes who got lazy and got fat, these are athletes who have been obese their entire lives. Their bodies are used to it. Theirs no shock to the body with the “extra weight” because it doesn’t feel “extra” kind of like how Tyson fury can move like a middleweight even though he’s always been very soft

I understand his points but it still doesn’t mean you turn up looking like an abattoir butcher.

And I could imagine it being a shock to his system if he lost a lot of weight too quickly. His way of doing things has got him this far, but it remains to be seen if it'll win him a title. Miller and Kownacki seem to be trying to prove a point.

Agreed with everything here too. When a boxer (Fat) can throw the number of punches Miller tends to throw then I don’t mind them coming in big.

And like you pointed out some of them are like that from childhood so their bodies are used to it, I remember Miller losing weigh before a fight and then he looked terrible boxing in there.
