Bellew didn't win another round after Usyk upped the pace in the 5th, and you could see the difference in levels between a world class fighter in Bellew, and an elite top 5 P4P talent in Usyk.
Listen, Usyk looked like sht which I tell as an perfectionist ukrainian. So he looked average for those who doesn't see good.
I couldn't believe how dumb he is for not using his left hook in all those corner situations for over 5 rounds. And that's just one thing I still remember.

ALSO, Usyk DIDN'T up the pace. It was Bellew who started getting tired. Usyk can't bring his endurance past 35 years. So unless he gets Papachenko or grows his own brain then his reign won't be long.

Agreed. I think he looked like **** against Bellew.

      He needs Papachenko.

He looked like **** on a number of occasions.

When he is switched on, he is excellent, p4p fighter, but he needs someone to push him...

And his problem is that he doesn't seem to respect any elders other than Papachenko. He really needs an authoritative coach who knows his ****, not too many of them.

        Usyk looked fine against Bellew.

The fight followed the usual pattern of what happens when world class meets world class elite - competitive for the first 5 or 6 rounds, then the elite fighters higher class begins to tell and he takes over.

I expected Usyk to take over and dominate Bellew in the second half of the fight, but I thought Tony would go the distance. Usyk KOing him like that was damned impressive.

From what I've picked up from watching videos on Usyk and in comments here, Papachenko is very much involved with his training and preparation. He works out the training regimes and his cut man, Russ Anber supervises Usyk to make sure he sticks to them.

Papachenko was in Usyk's corner for his most important fight so far, against Gassiev, and he was the one giving out the instructions.

I'm very intrigued to see who his first HW opponent will be.

Usyk probably has 2 to 4 good years left and they are only fighting him after 6-7 months instead of after 4, which is wasting 2-3 months for nothing. These promoters seem to take for granted that their fighter will be able to maintain prime form until age 35+ like Floyd did, then when their fighter can't do it like most 90% of fighters primes dont last until 35, they are left holding the bag while the career falls apart because the fights they should have made while their fighter was still elite they did not make until he was 35 years old, and by that point it's too late for him to perform at the level needed to have success in those fights and push his career to superstardom like would have happened had he gotten those wins in his prime.
Usyk wanted a rest. He's had an intense schedule and at his age he needs a rest for his body to recover.

Usyk played with Bellew. He pressured him from the first bell letting Bellew blow his load and then ruthlessly took him out. His feints, feet and pressure (without even exerting himself) took so much out of Bellew that after 5 rounds he was done. Then Usyk just stepped it up, started throwing more and knocked him spark out.

I see an Usyk vs Joyce rematch at some point. Paths may cross. Also see Usyk struggling against the top 3 cats. If Bellew can clip him, Wilder will put him to bed.

yes id say he's taking a little additional time to build up some muscle. he fought 3 times last year, i think he needs some additional time rest and also gaining muscle. this is a huge jump.

Anyways, surprised he's practically taking 6 months break in between fights. Was hoping he would be back by say, March, or April at the latest.
Oh yeah, because Floyd, Canelo, Wilder, and the Charlos never get bashed
