As others have pointed out before, his resume (apart from maybe a couple of fights) has always been suspect, so it was only a matter of time before someone exposed him - and who gave Fury a cat's chance in hell of doing that?

The biggest plus to come out of all this is that the fight with AJ next April is now far more likely, provided all the parties are reasonable.

I like Wilder, he's a character who should have been better promoted from the start. For sure, he has freakish knockout power but so did Earnie Shavers. What should be of greater concern to US fans, though, is who will come after Deontay?

If Wilder loses to AJ (or Fury) it could be over for at least a generation - seriously, who is there? Miller? Or someone young but untested, like Franklin? If you think I'm trolling, go take a look at an all-time list - you'll see.

For someone who grew up during the golden era of heavyweights (70s and 80s) I genuinely feel sad for the Heavyweight division in the US right now. What the hell has happened? Has all the talent been lured into other sports or something?
Anyone seen much of Trevor Bryan? I’ve never seen him fight but he’s 20-0 and being mentioned as an opponent for Miller.

What about Jermaine Franklin? 17-0, 25 years old, again I’ve not seen or heard anything of him either. US fans shed any light?

That's exactly right, but will he be able to improve his skills enough to do that, especially against Fury? With AJ, Wilder's chance of landing a KO punch is fairly good bur he'll never win a decision.

Wilder should bloat himself up to 24 stones. And see how hard it is to get rid of excess stomach fat and extra tyres around waist.
I doubt wilder could get below 235lbs. His waist would look flabby like furys.
The extra weight is of no benefit to Fury its all excess. But how do you justify Fury moving around the ring looking like willie pep compared to you. Although Fury don't punch his weight, he moves amazing for a man his size.

            Judges got it wrong

WBC needs to come out with a new "Excuse Belt", this clown would be undisputed champion!

Wilder stock haven't fallen furys stock just skrocketed to Amazon level while wilders is on Alibaba level. Heavyweight division is back an relevant. The rematch would sale 1m in the USA. Wilder does seem like he needs to go to complete nutrition get some bulking supplement get to 235 in 2 months and then tone down to 220-225 by fight night hell keep his speed and may gain a lil bit more power. With fury and Wilder fighting at 70% if the rematch they're both at 90% it's going to be epic. Both still beats Anthony fury with his defense and speed and Wilder with his power and speed.

Why are you following those biased jokes up. Wilder hasn't been making excuses. He has just been responding to questions in interviews as they had several talk show visits planned post fight.

Move down to Cruiserweight then, if you wanna complain about being outsized by Heavyweights

In truth it is a strange excuse to make after 3 years as "Heavyweight Champion". There are guys out there as heavy or heavier than Fury.

... tbh, I think he's already negotiating his split for the rematch...
