The fact he's talking so much shows you how desperately he's trying to boost his market value - his stock has unquestionably fallen and Fury's has risen.

As others have pointed out before, his resume (apart from maybe a couple of fights) has always been suspect, so it was only a matter of time before someone exposed him - and who gave Fury a cat's chance in hell of doing that?

The biggest plus to come out of all this is that the fight with AJ next April is now far more likely, provided all the parties are reasonable.

I like Wilder, he's a character who should have been better promoted from the start. For sure, he has freakish knockout power but so did Earnie Shavers. What should be of greater concern to US fans, though, is who will come after Deontay?

If Wilder loses to AJ (or Fury) it could be over for at least a generation - seriously, who is there? Miller? Or someone young but untested, like Franklin? If you think I'm trolling, go take a look at an all-time list - you'll see.

For someone who grew up during the golden era of heavyweights (70s and 80s) I genuinely feel sad for the Heavyweight division in the US right now. What the hell has happened? Has all the talent been lured into other sports or something?

Evander Holyfield weighed only 207lbs against Rid**** Bowe plus he was 3in shorter and he fought like a true warrior in Holyfield-Bowe 1. Even though he lost his titles to Bowe in 1 of the greatest heavyweight fights ever he never made excuses for losing the fight. Instead of making excuses what he did was act and in doing so he won the rematch.

So Wilder needs to stop whining as if he was the first fighter to be outweighed or out strengthened during a fight. His never ending excuses are getting embarrassing.

I was in good shape in my mid 20's, but in my early 30's I weighed considerably less, because I was doing a lot of running and burning a lot of calories.
Like I said it's likely that Wilder trained harder for Fury than he did for previous fights, burning more energy and therefore more weight.
If Wilder seriously thinks that he was at a disadvantage because he came in so light and that wasn't their goal to give him a speed advantage then he should sack his nutritionist. His team just appear to be a bunch of yes men to afraid to risk their payday by telling Wilder he is doing something wrong.

9 out of 10 refs would have stopped the fight

WBC needs to come out with a new "Excuse Belt", this clown would be undisputed champion!

Don’t forget that at the post-fight press conference Deontay said, “During the fight my elbow started bothering me, but I don’t make any excuses.”

Then don't fight at heavyweight and go to Cruiserweight. You can't use this excuses in this division

                  He already did.

It’s funny because the man who has legit excuses. Bad judges, crooked Haymon officials, lost all the weight, waaaay too soon into his comeback etc; is just sitting back hearing everyone tells him he won and then this clown is trying to force a narrative he was robbed and cheated.

So this clown has every day a new excuse why he didn`t beat a man, that had the last big fight 3 years ago.
