Comments Thread For: Pacquiao vs. Horn Scoring: Mitra Received Final Explanation

PANAMA CITY, Panama -- One of the important points addressed by Philippines GAB Chairman Baham Mitra during his participation in the recently concluded WBO 31st Convention in Panama was the issue of the Manny Pacquiao-Jeff Horn scoring, which was a very hot subject among the Filipino boxing community last year.

    whoah..... hold on

AFTER the investigation determined that Horn won the fight..... you what?

you looked for someone else to blame

    wtf ?

so..... first, you did not blame the referee, you blamed the judges..... but AFTER the judges were cleared, you decided that the referee must be at fault?

can you say..... silly pac-tard ?

if the referee was at fault, that should have been obvious..... and you should have blamed him first, the judges should not have been questioned..... right?

I agree he was robbed but please stop calling Pacquiao honorable, he's a disgrace in PH politics.

Not into the whole fanboy chit of any fighter, but I was dumbfounded how they had Horn winning. Maybe I just saw Horn get his ass whooped better because I was watching in HD on a massive screen

Absolutely wrong. And this is the problem. A fundamental lack of understanding how fights are scored. Punches are ONLY ONE OF FOUR criteria, scored equally. When you fail on the other three, which Manny did, you deserve a loss on the record.

That's what I saw, that's what everyone here saw, what everyone who watched it including the independent judges saw.

Sounds like a pushed statement. Did WBO Organizationed push them to say something good otherwise consequences...?

Robbery in a close fight? Hmm, where have we heard that before? Maybe Pac should have swam in salt water before the fight.

Robbed by Horn, Robbed by Mayweather, JMM landed a lucky punch. Now he is a world champion? Each WBC has two world champions now? This is only part of what is wrong with boxing these days. We go from 8 to 85 champions, now add another 85?

Then we have the weight issue BS. Complaints of guys moving up from 140 to 147, 147 to 154. There wasn't even a 140 or 154 weight class until the late 50's or early 60's. I guess the boxers in years past had more sand and mental toughness. Now its only about money.

                    Ok, done with my rant....
