Originally posted by kadyoRight you there buddy. Roach offered his service to randy but kozumi insists on sticking with his old trainer. Maybe roach can do something to make him a better fighter but joe isn't budging.
Maybe it's just as well that Joe Koezumi insists to go the way they wanna go.
There are the Bautista and Z projects along with lots of others that can keep Freddie pretty well occupied. I'm just wishing that Rodel Mayol can join Freddie's camp, and there's that very young fellow that Wakee Salud manages who a few months ago (I learned recently) won by KO in Africa for his dozenth win without a loss (sorry, buddy, forgot his name too!). I think that kid is only 19 years old-- like Bautista and packs a heavy hand!

rojas was the more active fighter but gerry was the more accurate. rojas was tryin to make it into a street brawl but the ring generalship of gerry and his experienced paid off. perhaps due to his age and health, gerry managed his shots magnificently. nice to see penalosa come back but i doubt if he'll be around for a long time. that in ji choo loss stills hounds me till today. choo just bicycled his way to win there.

Did you guys hear any BOOOOOOOOOO's or see any stuff thrown at him?
I don't think so!
I was impressed by their gracious additudes, very reflective of the people.

I dunno, but it seems to me that after losing to Pongsaklek, Malcolm has simply shuttled between the Philippines and Japan. That's not exactly the tried and beaten path to glory if you're a Bantamweight. There're much better prospects if one travels at that weight to LA, Vegas, etc.
Z Gorres who is at a lower weight (one that does not frequently get attention in North America) is starting to cut some swathe because his management has opted to get on the American experience.
Pongsaklek himself, who cannot be candidate for any frequent flyer bonuses from any airline, is fast becoming suspect even with his long string of defenses, because he has not gone much outside his native Thailand (I think a total of three foreign trips).
Tunacao and, especially, Mayol can improve their craft and chances at the big time if they go beyond Asia. Shall that happen? I'm afraid I'm not too optimistic, pal.
