Nice pickup by DAZN. Respect to Canelo on getting paid & getting that easier money cuz he's not all that great at promotion. If your not gonna speak English you are definitely effing up your PPV money potential so he's got less pressure & less stress now not having to worry about how many people are gonna pay $70, $80+ for his fight.

Didn't think DAZN would be able to sign him or wanna break the bank like they did, but if they did I knew they were gonna have to pay this cat & they definitely did that.

DAZN is definitely a player in US boxing now.

Randomly any word on how many dates the rest of the GBP roster get & what their budget is?

And this move should give DAZN a better retention rate on their free trial than they otherwise woulda gotten.

Oscar has already given both to Eddie Hearn.

Damn that's serious overpaying now outside of GGG What big fights for Canelo, Jacobs and Charlo kinda big fights Hurd and Lara ok fights Canelo isn't as big as pacquiao in his prime nor Floyd at any point in career once canelo starts losing to Lara(already got robbed by judges first fight) jacobs and Charlo less the judges keep getting paid off like they've been doing for canelo (Lara, GGG 1st fight and that 1 judge from floyd fight) dazn gone be like damn we overpaid this gringo looking Mexican

Kinda weird but why is DAZN mentioning the signing but no word from Matchroom? Oscar said he was going to go past Eddie and deal with DAZN directly, and everyone on here said that wasn’t allowed.

            Any clarity on the situation?

I am literally blown away. Look, as a boxing fan, I would say this is great. I have absolutely no clue how DAZN can do this, but I am all for it! How the heck can DAZN guarantee a fighter $365 million, without any ppvs?!?!?

I got Showtime a year and a half ago. The reason I got it was solely for the Brook-Spence fight. To me, that was a ppv worthy fight. And then with the rest of their boxing, I figured it was a great deal. And it is. Two ppv worthy fights a year make a $10 a month subscription worth it. That is like paying $60 a piece for two separate ppvs. DAZN just convinced me, that it is worth $120 a year for it too.

Egos and reputations are involved. Any suggestion that Hearn is involved in any way is going to be anathema to DLH or GBP so whatever the internal agreements betweeen DAZN and Matchroom I'd expect this to be positioned as a deal between DAZN and GBP with no other parties involved.

Good news for Hearn though whether he has a piece of this action or not.

Goddamn! Canelo got over $35 guaranteed per fight and Oscar found a platform for his growing stable!
Talk about being a smart businessman....
To all the haters who talk **** on Oscar and call him all kinds of names...
He might be a cokehead, he might be a fishnets wearing ******, but ****** he's not! He's far from ******!

That is a crazy high guarantee. I get that they dont have to pay out 365 million at once but 36 million guarantee per fight is super high. Wasnt mayweather's guarantee with showtime like 20 million?

They must be banking on atleast one super fight somewhere in the next 5 years, some of those fights they will probably lose money. Will they really generate enough revenue to pay him 36 million in his december fight? That will probably be a net loss.

Showtime probably lost money one one or two of the smaller mayweather fights like berto and guerrero and made it all back obviously with the pacqauio fight.
