That's simply not true. Crawford is fighting twice this year and fought twice last year. He did fight three times in 2016, but only fought twice in 2015.

Spence has already fought twice this year and may be fighting three times. He only fought once last year, but fought twice in 2016 and four times in 2015.

So by what metric is Crawford fighting more often?




I've already proven he doesn't fight more. As for reported purses, they're bogus. Arum is a promoter. Haymon is a manager. Haymon has more more incentive than Arum to help his fighters avoid taxes and sanctioning fees.

Spence vs Bundu did six million viewers. There's nothing ESPN can do to compete with network TV and Spence will be fighting on FOX soon and his Showtime numbers blow away ESPN+ numbers.

I sincerely doubt “half his fights” will be on the ESPN+ app. I said the HBO numbers were better than the Showtime numbers which is fact and his ESPN numbers are higher. Let’s see what the future holds for Spence.

Spence was basically a prospect in 2015 making that disproportionate.His real activity is his 2016-2018 which is an activity level of a fight every 6.8 months (with nothing scheduled for 2018) whereas Crawford’s in his championship years have been a fight every 4.83 months. Spence has only gotten to fight three champions whereas Crawford has gotten to fight six and has won a lot more titles. Crawford is about to have his 12th title fight. Spence just had his third. That can also impact activity.

You can doubt it all you want, but that's the business model. He'll fight once a year on ESPN against a lower level opponent and his big fight each year will be on ESPN+. If he wants to fight three times a year, he can take a second fight on ESPN+ against a lower level opponent, but most fighters at Crawford's level don't want to fight three times a year.

Haymon fighters have to promote themselves, Spence is too quiet, he need a big mouth promoter to get fights rolling.
