Yes you can judge fights on things like damage taken especially when they were as close as this one was. GGG was back peddling and STILL more marked up than Canelo.

Canelo got beat, he knows, his camp knows too.

I had it 115 - 113 for GGG, with 4 rounds I found very hard to score. Give half of those to Canelo, and voila, you have the 115 - 113 the other way. Honestly to me this felt like a draw. Canelo was faster, counters were cleaner and looked to have landed some hard shots. GGG wasnt walking him down, was out of character. Not what I expected from GGG, and maybe thats what the judges saw also.

It was far from a robbery though, and I was rooting for GGG to KO the ginger.

This is what I feel as well. I scored the fight 115-113 but did see many close rounds that could have gone either way. Lost money on GGG KOing Canelo. Was shocked to see Canelo's strategy. Shocked also that GGG only got him to the ropes twice the whole fight (one of them Canelo did it to take a breather).

The thing is GGG never looked badly hurt or wobbled, he should have thrown caution to the wind in round 10 where he got Canelo really good and there was half the round left. Was Canelo's pressure too much? It didn't look like it.

It was weird I have GGG winning the last time by 3 rounds but the rounds that Canelo won in the first fight were won by larger margins. Maybe they both performed better, and as a result every round was much tighter in comparison.

I think Canelo's legs, balance and reflexes are not the same. He was missing a lot of punches, punches he would not characteristically miss. Also his right knee seemed off. Despite being younger not sure how much Canelo will have left after this fight. I wish them both the best though, I am a big fan of both.

Lastly, GGG threw 8 body shots in the 1st fight. He threw 6 in the rematch. Canelo threw 46 body shots in the rematch. Someone needs to explain that. ALL of US said GGG needed to throw more body shots. I didn’t pick him to win but I wanted him to win. WTF happened to the body shots???

Canelo's body shots were brutal too. I think having it 6-6 or 7-5 to GGG is the way to go here. I really can't see any other scorecards. GGG gave up too many rounds early but definitely didn't give up 7, and Canelo faded and just got outworked those last few rounds - had GGG hurt Canelo to the body at all he might have been able to do some serious damage in those last 3 rounds - although I don't see how anyone can give Canelo even one round from 10-12...

It was a great fight but Vegas was going to ride with Canelo no matter what unless GGG seriously hurt him or stopped him.

Dude i'm probably the biggest Roy Jones fan on the planet but Roy? Seriously at 35, GTFOH. LMFAO. You named two fighters in the HW division who literally fought in the weakest era of that division, no disrespect to either man I think they would've been great in any era in their primes but at 35 not so much. I'll give you Calzaghe..Stevenson literally does not the mileage on him most guys have by 35 so you can have that one too. So that makes less than 12 names in a hundred years out of literally thousands of fighters...so how is age not a factor, especially the 35 plus club. Boxers themselves have discussed this...

Golovkin has to hang them up, his chin is still world class but father time loses to nobody more so football players and boxers. Golovkin was looking for that bomb to put the lights out, he did exceptionally well on the backfoot and the reset and even showed lateral movement in getting away from wide uppercuts but it's just not there anymore. Starting a new regiment isn't really going to help him at this point. Third fight? Maybe, if and only if he comes to walk through Canelo if that's not the plan just go enjoy life. Canelo ain't fighting until may especially after that big gash on his eye..that's too far off for Golovkin at this point, he's only going to get slower.

Dude...Mayweather and it ends there. The rest were pretty much shells of who they once were just like this guy and just about everyone else over 35. You cannot get hit to the face for 20 to 25 years and be the same. The brain doesn't heal like that.

"Shells". Be that as it may, all those fighters still fought at an elite level and continued to win. Im not gonna go back to hundreds of years in history to make my point that there is many fighters that did it. I'll agree that it is atypical, but not unheard of or uncommon for elite fighters to fight at such a high level for a long time. Some people just aren't built from the same cloth and there are exeptions to the rule. If you take care of your body you can go far. Today, you can't argue that 40 isn't the new 30's.

It's easy to come forward when your reflexes are twice as fast as your opponent because you waited until they were 36 years old to fight him. GGG tried to come forward a few times but Canelo slipped his slow punches and then countered with bullets. It boggles my mind how all you idiots out there cannot see you are being manipulated based on when these fights take place. If they wait until a fighter 33 or older, that's a declining fighter. 36 isn't a declining fighter, it's a complete joke. You guys are being fed the performance of a 36 year old and being told that has something to do with how good he was when he was in his prime, but it has nothing to do with it.

I also have to add that I think it's laughable that fans of either GGG or Canelo would still be calling the other fighter by derogatory names at this point. I think what those two displayed in this fight would merit some degree of respect from the followers of the other side. If your boy was willing to take 12 rounds of beating like he did and hug his opponent after the final bell sounded then I think the least you can do is show some respect yourself.

Because if they ever stepped in a ring they would know it's hard to body punch a shorter guy, it makes you go damn too low.
