I don't get how someone can be borderline racist. You either are or you aren't. There's not really a middle ground when it comes to racism.

While obviously you should take Jackson's comments with a grain of salt, I think you can see how Kovalev's work ethic changed, and you can definitely see how he's a nasty person. That nastiness helped him become a successful fighter.

In all fairness, maybe he hired him because he knew he was a good coach. A good coach who got him to the pinnacle of his acclaim.

Prior to Jackson, he was with Sanchez who realized he was a head case and wouldn’t listen, so he canned his hard headed ass.

Now, JDJ attempting to sell himself to the Ward camp prior to the second fight may be wrong. But I’m not a guy who just looks at “effects” like many on this site, I have to look at cause and effect. Having said that Kovalev did plenty to deserve the betrayal he was delt, including (according to Jackson) getting physically violent at one point.
