I love Mikey as a fighter. And I think Spence is probably going to destroy him.

But he has every right to try for greatness and legacy if he wants to. Who are we to stop him from reaching for his dream?

Mikey can't do anything else of notice in the near future: Loma is injured and he's with Arum, the top dogs at 140 are in the WBSS tournament, Thurman, Danny and Porter are busy...
... Mikey had to take the high road...

Obviously he sees something in Errol Spence that the rest of us don't see. He is targeting the youngest, least experienced, less seasoned, greenest and less skilled of the current champions at 147. Despite the physical disadvantages, Mikey feels like he is the more skilled, fundamentally sound, experienced, seasoned and more polished of the two fighters.
Yeah well ... "ifs" are just that until it happens.

Is this a great fight? Not on paper it isn't because it looks too one-sided to most fans. It's what I call an intriguing fight. Can Mikey overcome the odds?

That's what I thought at first. Mikey is more intelligent than most boxers plus he has a good brain trust in his brother and father. So maybe he had seen some weakness in Spence that we all can't see.

Trouble is no-one can articulate what that is. And you haven;t either - you are just talking generalities. The other problem is that obviously his brother and dad can't see Mikey is seeing either.

Mikey's greatest attributes are his ring IQ, his timing nad his ability to keep distance defensively and close distance offensively.

He is a more skilled boxer than Spence but not THAT much more skilled.

Spence can maintain distance, he has very quick hands and he willmost definitely lay hamds on Mikey which will slow Mikey down. Plus I am damn sure that Brook punches harder than Mikey yet Spence wasn't overly bothered by Brook's offence.

People saying this fight will look like Brook-Golovkin. I see it looking more like a hybrid bout somewhere between Brok Golovkin and Canelo-Golovkin. In other words Mikey will do better than Brook but worse than Canelo did.

You saying that if he gets 5 divisional titles he will create history. But he should target the winner of Garcia-Porter. His legwork would confuse Garcia and he'd time Porter all night long.

Tell Lomachenko to step up to 140 for that check!
Why do posters get so fanboyish? The point is that Mikey Pac would be a more even matchup than Mikey - Spence. I think we'd all like to see Mikey-Loma but it doesn't seem like that can happen right now. I'm not into Loma-Beltran but if as expected Loma wins that then there may be too much clamour from fans and networks for that fight not to get made to completely unify 135.

Mikey can fight Pac AFTER Spence! If Mikey was to fight Pacquiao now, everyone would say "Mikey talked up Spence, but he never intended to fight him!" Let Loma fight Pac! That's what PAC has asked for, and even @ 140, Loma should be able to beat a 40-yr. old Pacquiao!

I don't understand why guys think size is all that matters in boxing? SRL beat Hagler! Duran beat Leonard! Floyd beat Oscar, Cotto, and Canelo! Pacquiao beat Oscar and Margarito! It can be done!

Size matters when the skill level is almost on par. Did you notice how Jorge Linares (Bigger dude) put Loma on his ass? Pac would put him on his ass more then twice until Poppachenko stops the fight. I seriously hope Loma finds the courage and prove me wrong but until that, he straight shook.

                      Let's do it! Let's have a two-fight card:

                      Spence-Mikey
                      Crawford-Loma

Winners fight each other. I know, I know...
