even at this stage, manny beats him. mikey is too stationary and is a low punch output fighter with no movements. power is overrated too. it'll be similar to the lucas fight where mikey's punches will not have much affect on pac but pac's punches will be hurting mikey.
so you wanna see the fight happen if though you think its a mismatch
It’s funny cause I kinda think Miley’s style of fighting is similar to Spence. Straight ahead attack while throwing combos. I think it would be a good fight but Spence will outlast him but credit Mikey for wanting it. Boxing needs more Mikey Garcia’s.
Prograis is his worst nightmare.
He is the big welter that he fears at 140.
A true slick Boxer-puncher with something that all the rest of the top fighters do not have.
Power, ring IQ, & hunger.
Think Mikey will pass on him.
No matter what everyone on this forum is saying IMO Mikey can actually pull it off. I have never seen Mikey hurt so he must have a good chin if he has a good enough chin to take Spences punches then its a totally different fight. Mikey is one of the if not the smartest fighter and can make adjustments thru out the fight. It might even be the best fight of the year. So instead of trying to put Mikey down we should be talking about how good this is for boxing. How other boxers should keep challenging themselves. Everyone thought De la hoya was gonna massacre Manny and look what happened. Manny dared to be great and he achived it. There is risk but the reward would be greatness. So leta get it done for December.

Dared to be great? There were quite a few that knew DLH was cutting too much at his age, and that the Floyd fight a year and a half earlier took a lot out of him.
Add to that, Valero and Victor Ortiz beat the hell out of DLH in sparring. DLH was a walking ghost in the words of Freddie Roach. He said DLH couldn't even run a full lap before the weigh in without stopping. IV's didn't help.
Manny fought DLH when DLH weighed 147 fight night. Floyd fought the younger version at 164 fight night.
Dared to be great? They turned down Mosley multiple times after the DLH fight, with Roach telling Mosley he was too good of a fighter.
As far as Mikey, why not fight Loma at 135 before moving up? Mikey sparred quite a bit with Maidana, so he knows what fighting a tough welter is like. Spence is a ballsy move, but not sure it is a smart one. Maybe start out with Amir Khan first.

Prograis has some big defensive flaws Mikey would exploit, but it would be a good test to see how he does against a good south paw with some power. He is a big level below Spence as far as skill, size/reach, and power.
I'd like to see Prograis avenge his amateur loss to Sammy Vasquez before jumping on his bandwagon. Vasquez has turned out to be slightly above average in the pros.
