Hearn has said he already gots the fights booked for the Sept. show which I believe is the first show & the first BIG show in November. Sounds like he gots 14 shows to come up with now. And its a solid bet if he gots 2 shows filled that means he gots 2-4 more filled minus a B side when the Sept. & Nov. winners fight again in the year a time or two.




Wasn't the issue there that RN was buying Shaw's promotion, but Shaw wasn't selling his promotion thus there was some confusion there about the situation.

So again, question for anyone, whens the last time a promotion bought another promotion?

I feel like some cats here talk about promotions buying promotions like its a regular thing in this industry when its not that I've ever seen.

Gary Shaw was up for selling his company, in the sense that his company would be acquired by Roc Nation and that he would then be the lead for the boxing division. When Roc Nation made it clear that that wasn't the move, Roc Nation have him back his company.

Anyway, I guess we'll simply have to wait for the eventual rollout of the shows; if he wants a chance to sell a good amount of tickets, nevermind get folks to get the app, he can't wait much longer than just after the NBA Finals imo.

DAZN's intention is to take out the competition, eventually Hearn's 16 shows aren't going to cut it. Others will come onboard. Dana White recently saying he was talking **** about the Joshua signing maybe a sign Zuffa gunna be there.

Man, if they pull it off, youll have a load of promoters with no network issues, working together. With WBSS competitions going off all over the place, finding out whos the best in the divisions.

End of HBO (honestly, HBO has been on their way out for a while anyway), the end of ESPN's involvement in boxing, the end of boxing on Showtime/CBS, and the end of the PBC effort, with all of the boxing scene in the US worth talking about behind a $15 per month paywall.

The Golden Boy time buy deal is almost up; this is me speculating but HBO Boxing will largely become the exclusive home of The Canelo Show, presented by Canelo Promotions and Golden Boy Promontions. Anything that doesn't feed into a PPV fight with Alvarez would go on the back burner.

DAZN gives Kathy Duva a for sure longer term future, with likely more money to work with; Eddie Hearn satisfies a chunk of what DAZN chose to back him for, and he does so with a name value talent (in an environment where talent isn't simply jumping at his offers).

He's got 16 shows to fill per year; spread it out and you've got a show a month, with two shows for each month of the summer.

Hearn becomes Duva's broadcaster (or simply buys out her company for Matchroom Sport USA) and he fills an easy four shows that first year.

You are assuming their won't be a new contract for GBP time buy and that Duva wants to sell her company.

Why not just post some Haymon fighters? Beterbiev, Pedraza, Benavidez, Herring, Jacobs, Khan and Frampton have already been poached so why not poach some more? Much easier to get guys without promotional contracts.

The Charlos have publicly stated they need a promoter and PR team so lets see if they sign with Hearn or Top Rank. Once they sign then it will be easier to get more of the PBC roster.

Hearn doesn't need 50 fighters. Just a solid 10-15 guys can get the ball rolling and he can buy the WBSS to get even more good content at a decent price.

You are confusing different scenarios. The Boxers you named were not looking for buy outs, they were looking to end their contract with their previous promoter. They argued that they had fulfilled their contract and were no longer obligated to the promotional company, so they argued to terminate. Some just went on to negotiate and sign deals without confirming that they were no longer obligated. This is not the same. Ward could have entered negotiations to buy out his contract, but he believed he fulfilled his obligations, same with Mikey and the rest, they were not willing to pay. Canelo was bought out, Mayweather was bought out, Gamboa was bought out, Andrade was almost bought out till Rocnation pulled some shady schit, Leo santa Cruz was bought out, I can keep going. As I said, you are confusing two different situations.

You conveniently left out David Benavidez who Sampson said he will fight for till the end. He said Arum offered to give him a percent and he rejected. Sampson isn't offering a buyout situation.

Guys like Luis Ortiz and Gamboa were bought out because the promoter was willing to let them be bought out.

You are wrong about Mikey Garcia too. He said in an interview that he was willing to buy himself out but Top Rank would never even give him a number because they weren't interested.

As for Ward he lost in court times and eventually after Goosen died he was BOUGHT OUT because Goosen's brother agreed to let him get bought out.

You can't just get bought out or it would happen far more often.
