If a fighter being on there will get paid more than they usually would then I’m happy for them also. If 35 million subscribe to it I don’t make one dime. If 50 people subscribe to it I make the same amount.

Main Events Boxing apparently has 15 fighters under their banner, with Sergey Kovalev being the only one that HBO is kinda invested in.

No one really knows what deal Kovalev has, but Eddie Hearn could call Kathy Duva, and offer to air Kovalev's fights on DAZN. Duva gets 2-3 full budgets to build shows for, Hearn gets better content for his US broadcaster, and showing the full show gives the undercard guys more exposure.

Target folks not getting regular TV time.

Or better yet sign guys without a promoter. Eddie can build the cards, get his UK guys US exposure and not have to share money with a US promoter. Chavez, Fonfara and even Thurman may be the first to sign and if they do that will lead to more guys and he doesn't have to share with a Kathy Duva. Makes more sense.

Plus Kovalev is getting 3 HBO dates this year. Why would Duva want to leave that? Bivol is getting 3 dates this year and Barrera at least two so she is in a decent position. Her problem is her stable has zero depth

Promoters can go after any fighter they want, doesn't matter whether that fighter is signed. He just can't sign the fighter unless he's willing to buy out the contract, which is negotiated into every boxing contract.

Wrong. He can't just go sign Canelo or Triple GGG and buyout their contract LMAO. The promoter of record would have to be agreeable to the buyout and then set an amount that the Hearn would pay.

Buyouts in boxing usually occur when a fighter only has a single fight left on their contract or a Luis Ortiz situation where GBP agreed to allow a buy out and made 7 figures for their troubles.
