It is a major blow if it goes to DAZN and it would set a precedent.

What if Danny and Shawn like having Hearn promote the fight and sign with him? Then they won't be fighting on PBC cards anymore and will only be on DAZN
Wait DAZN? Excuse my ignorance what is this?

I know DSG has worked with GB but still making a buck off Garcia and Porter would be hilarious! also how a Al Haymon appointed promoter would have to out-bid TR-GB -- possibly overpaying and losing money and bringing the fight to lets say....ESPN and cutting Showtime.

The best part is that ideally thats how boxing is suppose to work -- for the prize-fighter.
GB can't afford to bid on and put this fight on. They could have easily gone to purse bid for the Diaz/Russell fight but agreed to terms that Haymon was paying. GB has only been able to put on shows that cost less than 1 million, especially more now with them missing out on the Cinco de Mayo revenue from Canelo's fight. Oscar talks about working with other promoters recently, well it's because he has no choice, they're the one's who can afford to pay fighters from GB. No way GB would have paid Linares over 1 mil.

If the bid is forced, Haymon will likely look at the TV money from Showtime, add to it an expectation for the gate based on the business that Danny Garcia has done, and the promoter in the market where Haymon is tentatively looking to run will be the promoter to formally put forward the bid.

Lou DiBella for New York/Northeast (unsure if DiBella was the promoter of Garcia's last fight in Philadelphia), Tom Brown in California/Vegas/Texas/Southwest, Schaefer in SoCal/Las Vegas, Marguiles in Florida, Chicago, and many of the smaller markets, Floyd in Las Vegas, Yvon Michel in Montreal, Lee Baxter in Toronto, etc.

With the free negotiation period gone, the countdown is set; 90 days from the bid date to stage the fight, and a hard 10-week camp amounting to 70 days, basically gives whichever fighter who slowed the talks about three weeks to continue to argue for concessions before the protest impedes the work.
Great post, see, this is what I want to see in these threads, hardcore fans that know what the f%%k they are talking about.

            Well done sir.

anybody can bid on most of these purse bids. promoters typically have the option to match, or get inside info on what other offers look like. naybody remember when one promotor came up with an offer that was like 1500 bucks above the next closest ? some money in a paper bag exchanged hands, methinks!

They won't like that 30% coming out of the check or being beholden to a promoter who can put their careers on hold whenever he wants.

Has DAZN done a fight yet? If not, when is the first scheduled one and whose fighting? I ask cause they need to come out with a **** in order to get subscribers. Danny/Shawn is a good fight, but its not a fight that will make me subscribe to anything
