if this goes to purse bid this has DAZN written all over it. That being said, Haymon knows this and will get a deal done prior.

... or he maybe wants to test that new business model... who knows?

I think Danny can outbox Shawn Porter. He just needs to stay away from being headbutted by Little Shawn.

Exactly, thank you, essentially Haymon is going to bid against himself, the fact that it is even going to a purse bid raises incredible questions about whats going on behind the scenes. Fighters with the same promoter/manager usually do not require a purse bid.

There is no coincidence that the rise of Al Haymon coincided with the Ali Act, he basically loop holed it and screwed the fans with step aside money deals and power playing whilst not always being anyones 'official' manager and often 'advising' both fighters. You notice all of 'his' boxers always have a confusing array of representatives, he's like the offshore tax haven island of boxing.

Haymon's not bidding against himself; the preliminary talk with both Garcia and Porter is done, and the negotiations have continued. If the bid is forced, Haymon will likely look at the TV money from Showtime, add to it an expectation for the gate based on the business that Danny Garcia has done, and the promoter in the market where Haymon is tentatively looking to run will be the promoter to formally put forward the bid.

Lou DiBella for New York/Northeast (unsure if DiBella was the promoter of Garcia's last fight in Philadelphia), Tom Brown in California/Vegas/Texas/Southwest, Schaefer in SoCal/Las Vegas, Marguiles in Florida, Chicago, and many of the smaller markets, Floyd in Las Vegas, Yvon Michel in Montreal, Lee Baxter in Toronto, etc.

With the free negotiation period gone, the countdown is set; 90 days from the bid date to stage the fight, and a hard 10-week camp amounting to 70 days, basically gives whichever fighter who slowed the talks about three weeks to continue to argue for concessions before the protest impedes the work.

I look at shawn porter on boxrec and it says he is suspended by NSAC, why is he suspended in new york?

Anyone wonder if or why Toprank or GB don't get in the action if it goes to a purse-bid? wouldn't that be funny? I know DSG has worked with GB but still making a buck off Garcia and Porter would be hilarious! also how a Al Haymon appointed promoter would have to out-bid TR-GB -- possibly overpaying and losing money and bringing the fight to lets say....ESPN and cutting Showtime.

The best part is that ideally thats how boxing is suppose to work -- for the prize-fighter.

Haymon has a series of promoters that he works with and they usually just round robin the situation. Whatever happens, they'll be in association with DSG or SP promotion/or both.
