Haymon would still be his adviser but his power and influence would be greatly reduced because Hearn is the promoter. Right now Spence doesn't have a promoter so Haymon calls all the shots for him. That is why he promised him three fights to keep Spence from signing with GBP last year when they promised him Cotto and Matthysse fights.
We as fans just tend to ASSUME how things work and run with it even when it is WRONG. You're given options and a list basically and how much you can make fighting this or that guy. It is not about POWER and treating fighters like your PROPERTY. That is why he has the amount of fighters he has who seem to be very loyal despite being Promotional Free AgentsLast edited by sicko; 05-11-2018, 12:31 PM.

This isn't some tinpot Euro sports streaming platform; Perform is owned by Access Industries which is a massive investment group. It has stakes in Warner, Spotify and ****loads of chemical and energy companies.
Turner Sports isn't giving up the NBA rights for anything short of a ridiculous figure, and that's the case for basically every sports property.
The UFC, in a midst of a clear starpower drought, is set to see their rights package (not counting what they've kept separate for their PPVs) triple.
If you're hanging a hot on DAZN simply outbidding everyone for all of the live sports content, I think you're making a mistake.

They don't need the rights to the country where the sports are based necessarily, because there is so much interest in top line sports all over the world. The NBA, NFL, and MLB to a lesser extent are popular in many markets all over the world. Same with the Premier League, La Liga, UEFA Champions League, and obviously boxing etc.
In the long term, the way a television network is designed leaves it at a disadvantage to an internet streaming service. They are always juggling with programming time, juggling sports, how much air time dedicated to each sport, convenience to the consumer, all problems eliminated by a good internet based streaming service. It is the future on how we will watch sports, and tv in general for sure. It will follow music, and movies.
It will take time, but centralisation, convenience and easy access of information is always the key.
In the short term I think with the financial backing Hearn has, he will have no problems making some high profile signings as well as collaborating and bringing together big fights on both sides of the pond. I think DAZN will continue to expand and move into further countries and bring them content that they normally not have access to.
