We will forget he was robbed in the first loss, because he wasn’t. What was the point in robbing him in NYC? Oh NYC loves Rungvisai, we want promote that guy as the next Pacquiao. Man those judges don’t give a ****, they scored what they saw.
He has a better defense than JCC and GGG.

Corrupt judging isn't unique to states, it's about how these judges can be reached and by who. Maybe they were corrupt or maybe just incompetent. Regardless, Roman should have won that first fight and most in the boxing community agreed.

Gonzalez is a classic example of how casual fans treat a fighter after he suffers his first loss. Suddenly he was a hype job, overrated, and not worthy of any further discussion. If GGG suffers his first defeat they'll be all over it with the "I told you so" routine. Same will happen to Wilder, AJ, Thurman, Spence, Crawford...it only takes one loss in today's boxing scene to lose all credibility. We still have casuals who shyt on Loma because he lost to Salido in his second pro fight.

Yeah, unfortunately we (boxing) have the worst fans in all sports. We used to have the best.

I followed Chocolatito's career from the moment he defeated Niida and he got some quality work in from that fight until the second Rungvisai fight. He was always the consensus #1 in all three divisions until Super Fly where he actually dethroned a very good fighter in Cuadras despite being a little war torn and smaller (than the opposition) at that point.

He got jobbed in the first Rungvisai fight, beat Estrada, Yaegashi, Viloria, Arroyo etc; too all excellent wins and despite the biased fans on this forum (because of their anti GGG agenda they linked Choco to him) none of his wins are disputed either.

Was he the weakest p4p champ? I think he had a better career purely in Boxing terms than Tyson and Ward and I personally would rank him over Mosley and De La Hoya on a mythical all-time rankings list but by the time Choco was deemed to be #1 I think he was already slightly beyond his peak and I didn't think he was better than Lomachenko or Crawford but his resume was I guess.

He's a great fighter, a shoe-in for the hall of fame, had some great fights and backed down from no challenge and brought the little guys to a lot of folks attention yet he's hated by a large number of folks on this site. Makes sense.

Yeah a loss is a death sentence to the casuals. "Exposed", "Garbage", "Should retire" etc; Some guys lose their fan base altogether, some guys keep theirs but always have to be told of how he was a bum and never any good.

I truly believe had Mayweather-Castillo I gone the way most people saw it and Castillo got the nod Mayweather would have no fan base and nobody here would talk about him. He gained a lot of Roy Jones fans once he was KO'd and then new fans that are only into the "0" and all the exposed stuff. I think a guy like Holyfield or Hopkins would have no chance these days with most of the fans but Wilder and Charlo are legends already.

Exactly. Mayweather's wealth, success and fan base is hinged largely upon his undefeated record. Which is why he fought in such a defensive manner during the last third of his career and was very prudent about who he fought. One loss and no one would have been buying any of his PPV's, because that is why most fans purchased them to begin with, wanting to see him lose that precious "0".

Today, these casuals shyt all over many of the ATGs because of their losses (Floyd started that when he trashed Ali for losing to Spinks) and it has had a trickle down effect on fighters today who are fearful of losing that zero in the loss column and the millions of dollars that follow.
