This is nothing new, and you can read about human behavior, most people when someone excels at something, boxing in this instance ,always minimize it by saying "well, if he would've fought X he will lose", it is called envy and we all have it.

I don't see the decline maybe cuz I never held him to a high standard cuz all I ever saw was a punching bag with insane power. His power imo was his defense, you feel one punch and cover up or throw "stay away from me" punches like most of his opponents did. The key now is to not cover up or try to run but to actually duck and GGG misses alot. A slight head movement confuses him.
I also saw alot of his fights from as far back as 2008 so this "off prime" GGG is shocking to me when I hear such. Watch the Rosado fight, you will barely see a difference except for opponents' reaction when they get hit.
Moreover there is barely anything he does best that can be easily deminished with age of 36 and no wars. He still has insane stamina and power, never was an athletic jumper like Pacquiao and cutting off the ring does not really fade with age. So where does that leave us? Quality of opponents.
His jab has been the only thing offensively that has worked for him consistently since Brook. Top fighters don't just stand there to be beat up on.

Most top fighters roll with the punches so you can barely even land flush when you do land.

His jab is elite and he has no tell on it, very unpredictable and heavy. With all his other shots they are kind of meh. But as you correctly pointed out, when they do land, he's so heavy handed that they make a difference, and just the threat of his power becomes a deterrent. If you have a lapse in concentration and he land's that left hook or right hand, you are going to be in trouble. Plus he does have some subtlety do his work, great engine, some skill.
But I'm with you it's all predicated on his heavy handedness, he is a b level fighter with A+ power. But in general...overrated.
