Well for whatever it's worth i'm a CO and my co workers know nothing about boxing outside of Ali, Tyson, Mayweather vs McGregor, Pacquiao, Canelo vs GGG and Wilder. So yes, people generally do know who Wilder is.

No, not superstar, not yet. He's known among people who casually watch sports and are not hiding under a rock when it comes to sports. Probably if you're someone who likes watching ESPN or have channels that PBC would be on, you would know about Wilder.
