    you fight, you get paid
no way, castillo failed to full fill the contracted weight argreement.

corrales made weight, castillo didn't, corrales depleted himself to make weight and would be weak as **** for the fight verses castillo who didn't make weight and would be the fresher of the two for not drying out to make weight.

if they both made weight then they would both be on the same level of play and the fight would be fair.
it aint fair for one guy to torture himself to make weight and the other guy not even try and have them still fight. it isnt on an even level of play.
just like the rematch, castillo knew corrales would go on with the fight and he knew he would beat him easliy, because corrales was weak and he was fresh from not making weight. and i think he tried that bull **** again, and now castillo is ****ed for it, rightfully so.

those kind of conditions can have a fighter get hurt, i turely believe had castillo said that he can't make weight before the weigh in, corrales would've opted to fight a catch weight so he wouldn't have had to dry out to make 135lb. that would've been fair. castillo didn't want to say anything because he wanted corrales to make weight then castillo was going to try and force corrales to fight again anyway. giving castillo a huge advantage like their rematch.
i think castillo was afraid to make weight and fight after drying out, he didn't want to take that kind of punishment making weight before the fight and take punishment during the fight, after making weight.

corrales did the right thing anyway by not taking the fight. castillo failed twice! to make weight. he was given a slap on the wrist the first time and awarded a ko win, this time he's being reprimanded and i think he should get it to the fullest extent!

How the hell do you even know if Castillo failed weight on purpose? Castillo also came in heavy against Reyes in his last fight so doesn't that tell you something?

ok, i dis-aggree with you. corrales is complianing about getting paid, becaue he -corrales- chose for the fight "not" to go on.

you havn't even read the wbc article it clearly explain how they notifed arum, shaw and the nevedad commision and nobody cared!

castillo also tried to make weight but couldn't do it, its as simple as that nobody cared about castillo health

read "grayfist" post, fighters have always accepted fights even when their opponet came in over weight. lets remember castillo came in 5 pounds over against reyes and none of us cared and reyes didn't get ko'd

        you fight, you get paid

Has anyone mentioned that this entire thread wouldnt exist, if that dumb bastard JLC would have done what he said he was going to do? You call Chico names for suing, but....he wouldnt be able to sue anyone if they hadnt broken the contract. Put the fork down man. Seriously.
And another thing....Not JLC's fault for not making weight? Thats like saying its not my fault if I didnt get dressed in the morning. I dont put on clothes...my fault. I eat to much, and work out too little and miss a contracted weight after 4 freaking months....also my fault.

Make weight = No problems. No lawsuit. Nice Fight. The end.
          Nice going JLC.

castillo is in training camp where he has no control of what he eats, if he still gains wait, then i guess even water should be eliminated from his camp. you got to read the wbc article to know the facts.

also you don't fight, you don't get paid, so don't complain

Time was when discrepancies in weight was resolved by the convenience of having the champion stripped of his title (if it is the champ who failed to make weight) or the challenger being refused the chance to wrest the title. Those, indeed, were simpler times; so simple that a 147 lbs. Sugar Ray Robinson thought nothing of facing a 157 lbs. Jake La Motta and a 142 lbs. Henry Armstrong didn't consider calling lawyers about the weight of the 153 lbs. Ceferino Garcia.

Today, boxing has become so complicated that we have seen world champions winning titles not in the ring, where those used to be won, but in proceedings in some state commissions or alphabet bodies, sometimes by force of a judicial edict or two.

Also today, a John Ruiz can go to court to demand payment from James Toney for some claimed slight. And to think he bills himself as, "The Quiet Man."

Am I alone in wishing that more of the action be left inside the ring than are brought outside of it? I'm sure I'm not.
great post, i feel the same exact way.

So many people talking mad **** about Castillo, where are you know to talk smack about Corrales.

And for those that said, Castillo got a weight drained Corralles. Guess what Corralles got a weight drained Casamayor or you could say smaller fighter, and guess what, Corralles lost. Just goes to show you that Corralles was just afraid to fight Castillo.

Give it up man, many fighters have not made the weight before, the difference with Castillo was back to back against the same fighters. You can't compare the two.
